Climbing Stairs Animation.

Obviously you would have to limit it to a certain sized step because Sackboy has seams and they could split in unfortunate places if he over-stretches. If I was designing the tool I'd make it similar to the 'rod' but it would be zig-zagged and cover one full layer. You would attach it to the bottom and then attach it to the top and it would immediately activate the walking upstairs animation when sackboy was in contact with it. It would automatically adjust the gradient of each step and would also have a material selector in it's menu. There would also have a 'scroll' setting. When this is activated, sackboy is transported to the top just by standing on one step. By adjusting the gradient to flat, it just becomes a conveyor belt and sackboys walking animation stops. | 2014-10-25 04:05:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |
Idk. With the dematerializer combined with invisible material to make a slope, stairs seem far easier to make look like sackboy is walking along them. At the moment, I just use invisible material to fill in a smidge in the zig-zags of stairs so Sackboy doesn't get that sudden stop or look funny. | 2014-10-25 10:35:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
Idk. With the dematerializer combined with invisible material to make a slope, stairs seem far easier to make look like sackboy is walking along them. At the moment, I just use invisible material to fill in a smidge in the zig-zags of stairs so Sackboy doesn't get that sudden stop or look funny. Idk. It sounds useful, but it may be limiting on stair designs. Every staircase would have to be the same step height. If we had a left knee up/right knee up animation, we could probably make our own I suppose.
