What Is Extra Life? http://www.helpsdkids.org/image/New-Extra-Life-Logo-White-Web.jpg Great question, conveniently bold text! Here's an answer coming your way! Extra Life is an annual gaming charity marathon, raising donations for children's hospitals to help out those little gamers who may need more than some bed rest and a red health potion. For 2014, this marathon starts at 8 AM Central time on October 25th, and will conclude triumphantly 24 hours into the future. Already, Extra Life has gathered over $2.5 million in donations, and the event hasn't even started yet! Why should I care? I'm not sure I like your tone, slightly more ominous bold text, you need to change that attitude. If it isn't immediately obvious why you should care about this effort, this is a great opportunity to show the world once again the amazing things the gaming community can do when it works together. Donations are tax deductible, and go to hospitals of the fundraiser's choice. Can't donate? Help spread the word, and help attract people who can! Fly to the furthest edges of the tweetosphere, delve deep into the book of faces: the more people who know about this event and its benefits, the greater it's impact will be! From a more personal standpoint, I used to have some very severe asthma when I was younger, and had to spend more than a few days and nights in a hospital room. During these stays, the quality care I received, and the time spent playing one of the hospital's N64s, made the stays so much more bearable. Children have a rough enough time as it is when they're sick, and these donations help minimize that misery. To that effect, I'm going to be part of a team streaming for 24 hours from www.twitch.tv/zthgames if you're interested in watching me and my friends talk about and play games with an increasing amount of sleep deprivation.
