Where is any evidence of this? So far it's seems like the opposite to me.2014-10-20 22:10:00

Yoshida didn't specifically rule out the existence of a PlayStation 5, saying the company would consider such hardware if game creators eventually found it to be necessary. But if PlayStation Now goes according to plan, it won't be necessary -- with the games being played on remote servers, powerful local hardware isn't needed. In fact, Sony plans to eventually expand PlayStation Now to other Internet-connected devices, including smart TVs, smartphones, and tablets.

Not sure why you think this means the end of LBP.

In fact, it may mean even more people could join our community.

I have the PS Now Beta on my PS Vita, saw it in the store and was curious so installed it. Bunch of games on there for like 2 bucks that you can rent for 90 days, didn't seen any games that were all that interesting, though.2014-10-20 22:32:00

I could see them doing both for a few gens at least, streaming is probably the future but selling a box that plays discs and downloaded games allows for a certain amount of the hardware costs to be recovered.2014-10-21 02:07:00

What I get from this kind of stuff is the ability to play a game without a console.

Even if they never made a PS5, that doesn't- in any way -mean that the modern games we have now will disappear. They'll just be on the new console-less 'console'.

Maybe 'Cloud Consoles'!

Maybe 'Cloud Consoles'!

That's the idea I believe they are trying to move to, but it seems they have been running into some major issues, which from testing groups, the idea has come off as a bit sour.

Some of the issues that came up when the Xbox1 came out, with things like always needing to be connected and... I forgot- but those things, they were testing out the cloud system as well I believe.

Always being online is the biggest obstacle of course. Then again. They could allow us to download the games and play it if we have powerful enough hardware such as if they were to bring PlayStation Now to PC I would respect very much and I could play the games and download them if I lost connection. I think this would be a good move for PlayStation if Sony are to succeed and overcome Xbox by not only having their cloud gaming on PlayStation but other platforms too.
