New 'Filter Chip' Found

Archive: 18 posts

The chip design is an arrow pointing right to a vertical zig-zagging line.

Here's are the available settings:

Label
Filter value: 0% - 100%
Minimum: 0% - 100%
Maximum: 0% - 100%
Current state: Yes/No
Scaling filter/toggling filter

What it appears to do is enable you to have the same logic but create slightly different result. The example shown was of two lights intercepted by the filter chip. When you turned them off, the one with the filter dimmed while the one without turned off. I'm sure this could be used for some interesting maths situations but I'm not tech savvy enough to know that for sure.

So it's a little like a specialized randomizer? Neat, I might be able to use one of those for some randomized visuals.2014-10-20 04:21:00

Where was this "found"?

Check out the user created levels. I got it as a free give away. I never looked to see who found it or where it was found so perhaps it's in the description.

I think this is just a dev shortcut, it seems like everything you could do with a few and gates, and a counter, but its a good shortcut for dev work2014-10-20 16:17:00

This seems really sweet, especially filtering lighting and such. Would be really neat in darker levels.2014-10-20 16:26:00

Oh hey! Im guessing you are talking about my published level?

Yeah, I found the Filter chip through some odd method that I can't really explain here, but it sure is an interesting piece of logic!

So far I've only found out what the Filter Value part of the chip does, but im trying to figure out the rest of it too.

So what happened to this? I haven't seen it once on all the streams I've watched so I'm assuming it isn't there.2014-11-27 19:16:00

I looked for it, and couldn't find it in the tools bag. Makes me wonder if they decided against putting it, or if it will be put in later.2014-11-27 23:38:00

Hmm... I wonder if there are prizes for the Popit puzzles that give this away. I haven't really messed much with those puzzles though.2014-11-27 23:52:00

No. I've gone through them all.

I was actualy hoping there would be a lot more of the puzzles, especially ones for the more complex logic and tools.

Yes, so was I, especially when the dev estimated it would take you about 5 hours to complete. Makes me wonder if a lot of the content was pulled at the last minute to get it to market because there's no were near 5 hours worth of Popit Puzzles. I think it took me under 2 hours to finish them all.

I retrieved it again in the full game via my method, but it's not officially in the Tools Bag. It functions the same as it did in the beta. However the tool has "DEV ONLY!" in it's title.2014-11-28 16:48:00

Would you publish it again, please. I never got round to playing with it in the beta. Hoe did you find it anyway?

Huh... I wonder why they made it Dev only. It sounds like a useful tool.
