Archive: 11 posts

I'm Not In The Beta But Here We Go.

(You Need 2 Wormholes.)

Take Out Two Wormholes And Them Connect Them. Change One To Exit. Now Copy And Flip Them. Make One Set Have 0% Opacity. Glue Them Together And There You Go!

someone in the beta please add screenshots or a video?

If you're making a wormhole that a player can go back and forth between, they do that already.2014-10-20 07:52:00

I'm confused at what this topic is supposed to tell me...

I've been waiting for some clarification so that I can add it to my tutorial thread but right now it seems a bit odd. Surely entering and exiting the same porthole would leave you exactly where you started? What's the point?

Yeah. I don't even know how it would look. How do you connect them? In what way? Bottom to bottom, side to side, one with a dephysicalizer?2014-10-21 18:25:00

It's not 'Hate'. Could we please not bring the N4Gs mentality here. I'm trying to compile a list of useful tutorials and I'm sure you can understand why I would want to drive traffic into a thread for something that doesn't seem to have any purpose. Please don't take it personally. If you can give me a good reason why it would be useful for you to disappear and reappear in the same place then I'll add it.

Play nice everyone.

As for what is the thread is about, from what I can gather it is proposing a way in which a single worm hole can be both the point of entrance and exit of travel; a feature absent from LBP2. However, LBP3 allows you to do this now in the tweak menu so...

I believe he is describing a warmhole that's a 'hole in the wall/ceiling/floor', but it only looks like there's only one wormhole.

Buuut... I don't see how this is any different than if the wormhole wasn't there. The wall/ceiling/floor would have to be veeeeery thin to make it not look awkward. Though the really thin wall would look weird. And if it was to let a player go through walls, then the distance of one wormhole would have to be a little bit aways from the other, in order to span far enough to reach past the wall.

It's actually present in LBP 2 if you have the cross control DLC (the psvita to ps3 one), you'll get a wormhole as one of the new tools in game.

Well going back to the topic. Yep it does not make sense.

I don't wanna offend anybody but the logic he stated was also wrong, He said to take two wormholes:

A & B

Then connect them and change one to exit:

A-----B(B is exit)

Copy and Flip them. Make One Set Have 0% Opacity. Glue Them Together

A-----B
B-----A (Copied and flipped. Set with 0 opacity)

not sure if you can glue them together. But analyzing it, still looks like it does not work unless it was setup like this:

A (A is connected to B below)
B

I did breakup his explanation so that I can understand what he's referring to, but it still does not makes sense to me.
Entering a wormhole and exiting to the same one. If you imagine how that way works, it will have an effect of making sackboy enter a the wormhole for a second then exiting it. You can dodge rolling rocks with that function though!

And that last bit just gave me an amazing idea for some gameplay mechanics.

More on topic, I think everyone who has read the OP has been confused by it. It seems everyone's post is basically, "I don't understand what you mean because it doesn't seem to make sense."

Also, I think he means the Velociporters, and not the Wormholes from the move pack. What makes me think this is the case, is because flipping the actual Wormholes from the move pack does nothing. Pl;us, he mentioned the Beat, which, unless he did not know of the Wormhole from the move pack, the only other Wormhole-like thing is the Velociporters.
