Testers Needed!

Archive: 13 posts

I hope this is the right place to ask, but I could really use some testers for my new level. I can't say too much without giving anything away; it's a cryptic level with very little guidance, and so far no one has been able to figure it out on their own. Would anyone be willing to do me a big favor and give it a try? I'd prefer to spectate just to see firsthand how people go about playing it, but if you wanna just go for it on your own, I'd really appreciate that too. The level is my sig, if you're willing to be a tester please post here or message me on PS3 (PSN is zippy93).2014-10-18 20:19:00

Well... Nothing ever said or stated that this was anything more than a simple cabin; so I doubt anyone would go looking for anything other than a leisurely cabin to just look at.

I'll try the level though, which I think I have already, but I don't know if it was this level.

Already did it when I posted my above post. I liked it from a neat twist aspect. Not sure if I ended it how it should be ended, but I wasn't sure if there was more to it. When it comes to looks, some parts on section 2 weren't as good as the cabin itself, though it had a great atmosphere. Reminded me of that SCP game, where it didn't look entirely eye pleasing, but had a good atmosphere.

Once I knew that I could look for something, and that it wasn't just some house, I found things. Couldn't get the last two journal entries to work, but I didn't need to. Guessed the code correctly after getting the first two.

Personally, I don't think you need to change any hints or anything that has to do with the puzzles. Just that, with all the home showcases where they ARE just homes, some would think yours is the same.

Then again, leaving it how it is, it can be a neat treat for some who do figure out that the level has more to it.

:O holy cow you're a legend dude! Haha well technically a cheater... Ok no lol I knew some people would do it that way too, I thought about requiring players to find all the numbers before they can open the box, but that would just be cruel (especially considering the most numbers anyone has found on their own is just one, and that was only about half of the people I've tested). I know part two wasn't as detailed, especially in comparison to the cabin, but I kinda got lazy with the dark atmosphere and wanted to keep things simple as to emphasize the enemies (dark atmosphere + controllable flashlight = some pretty good visuals with little work). Btw did you find the secret location in the basement?

What are your thoughts on the puzzles and clues? I'm about to add some more clues, but I still want to keep it a surprise and avoid hand-holding. And what did you mean you couldn't get the last two journals to work? They weren't opening for you?

You being the first person to complete it entirely on their own, I think I have more questions for you than you do for me haha.

It'd be best if we talked about it somewhere else since I'd have to spoil a lot of things to talk about certain things. And I THINK I know how the last two numbers were supposed to be done, but I accidentally ended the level on my own on the car section. The second playthrough, I accidentally got the candle stuck under the table that the book was on, but I already knew that number so I said f- it.

And I believe I found the hidden area, if it was where you find the guy and his other journal entry.

Good idea, would you mind if I add you and we talk about it on lbp? I understand some people are real picky on who they add or have an almost full friends list, but I'd completely understand if you want to delete me after discussing the level.

And yes, that's it! Really good job, I was beginning to think all of the secrets would never be found.

I really enjoyed testing your level cheers. I ain't the smartest especially when I just done a long day at work and my kids are running around screaming, while trying to figure out the riddles haha. And tbh I will play it again to see if I can figure them with more lucidity.

House is beautiful, and I understand it's what you wanted to build, a build that fulfills you, but I reckon it could of flowed better, as we discovered a ramp where some steps should be and story steps that were hard to or even tiring to jump up over and over.

Also sticker material could add some control promts when close to a door or even in the controlbox.

But very clever, and it is pretty much perfect the way it is, I am just picking really. I think there are some who will really get off roaming this house and it's backstory. I for one am very interested in the story that will unravel.
