Invisible Sackboy.

Can someone check this out to see if it's just a bug my end. This is how I did it:

Put down a microchip and set it to broadcast to nearest player. Put an Opacity tweaker on this and set it to 0 opacity. You can get some nice ghostly effects too by adjusting the Opacity up slightly. That's it and it's probably that simple everyone will have done it and I'll look silly.

edit: You can't see through sackboy himself unless it's on zero, he simply turns a light colour but his clothes completely disappear. Can someone check if when he wears a full body suit, he fully disappears. I've just experimented with changing his weight too. LOL. Broke the floor.

edit 2: Ok, now he's fading with the costume. It must have been a bug that stopped him fading completely before when set to anything but 0

edit 3: I think it's a bug because when you put clothes on him it resets it back to not being able to see through sackboy himself but only his clothes. As soon as I reset costume, he disappeared again. So only naked sackboys can be transparent.

I have messed around with this myself before. Here are somethings you could do...

1. Let's say you wanted to play as an object, well you can! Attach a tag into the broadcast chip and make the object follow the tag. It will be fun!

2. Let's say you are creating a stealth level. (Yes yes, steal my ideas!) You can add potions and one of the effects is to make yourself invisible for a limited amount of time!

3. You can create a level where you press a button, such as L1, you can (STEAL IT!!!!) make yourself slightly transparent, and you can go through curtain walls, by using the physics tweaker which allows creators to make some object non-solid and change the weight of the object, or allow sackboy go through EVERYTHING, but if you fall too much you will die. You can make them die without them falling out the level using the kill tweaker!

4. Using the slightly transparent idea again, you can toggle between two states. One is where you can interact with normal objects, but can't interact with transparent objects. The other is where you can interact with transparent objects, but not normal objects.

If you are going to use these ideas, please credit me! If not then I will be sad...

If you put a character animation tweaker on your player and set it to POWER-UP ANIMATIONS: grappling hook (multiple grappling hook animations will trigger this) it will make you invisible... for reasons I don't understand, grappling hook animations seem a tad unstable2014-10-19 03:49:00

The stealth thing is a neat idea if this turns out to be stable in the final game. I think it'd be cool to set it so the player drops to 10% opacity when standing still (can only be seen by enemies who are nearly on top of him), 20% while walking slowly (can be seen by enemies who are within a reasonably close distance), and 0% while moving quickly (can be seen by any enemy with a line of sight to the player).

Ghost characters would also be pretty cool.

"Phasing"/"Misting" through grates like Castlevania or Blood Omen 2: lower opacity and emit a mist effect and it would look pretty darn cool.
