Cutting Room Floor - What didn't make it

Archive: 19 posts

Did you know that this iconic sticker, you may have seen it on the Mm website, isn't even collectible?!

(Not really sure if this is the right section, it is just 'general LBP&apos

I was browsing the web and came across this, which I found it quite interesting!

It is a compilation of most of the things that didn't make it into LBP and we're cut for whatever reasons, from materials to DLC.

I am sure most of you know about the English Seaside theme which was cut, but it turns out that there were others too, such as Russian Theatre and American Train.

Some of the things that didn't make it in the finished game where later released as DLC, such as the "Music Pack". It fascinates me that the developers bite off more than they can chew, just to give us a very spectacular game to prosper in.2014-10-16 15:18:00

The Mm ribbon costume seems like a nice idea, but I guess the pin is enough of an accolade.

There is actually an other costume I know of that I don't think is documented anywhere, I found in an old LBP1 article. A mini crown, I'll see if I can find the picture when I get home.

Yeah, it is really interesting. I had never seem it before today, just happened across it when I was looking for the old ice hazard.

It is strange that there are so many 'hidden' stickers/materials that are in the game but not collectible, I wonder why Mm didnt patch them in, some of them look really good.

Hey, I'm a main writer for this page alongside Lemurboy12. We found pretty much all the stuff on here.
There's a lot of other stuff that isn't on the page, but we can't actually access yet. One thing I'm interested are unused levels, which we can access, but we haven't documented yet.
There's actually a level SPECIFICALLY for scrolling credits, which is never seen in LBP1. There's more too, but I haven't looked at them yet.

Just thought I'd pop into this thread and say hello

Some other games we're looked at and written pages for:
http://tcrf.net/LittleBigPlanet_2
http://tcrf.net/Sackboy%27s_Prehistoric_Moves
http://tcrf.net/LittleBigPlanet_Karting
http://tcrf.net/LittleBigPlanet_PSVita

Real interesting stuff, and this is only the beginning.

What's up with the highly opinionated bit at the beginning of the Vita page?

What's up with the highly opinionated bit at the beginning of the Vita page?
Let's be completely honest, LBP Vita didn't exactly have the most wide variety of objects and costume pieces to work with.
Heck, there's not even a normal sponge material. LBP Vita's sort of problematic.
I'll change the bit, that's just how almost everyone I've met has felt about the game too.

That's weird, I've had the opposite experience. I haven't played LBP Vita myself (no personal Vita of my own), but most everyone I've seen talk about it say that it's the best LBP yet.

But yeah, I think it's wise to keep opinions out of articles like that, just for the sake of letting people view the content without getting distracted.

Oh hey, it's this. Last time I remember this was the only article about LittleBigPlanet. Now, most of the main games have been covered.2014-10-19 04:03:00

On LBP1 I discovered a material. I named it 'Dark Glass', imagine dark matter with the clear look of glass and you got the material. It also has sharp edges. The material is found on LBP1 Story level 'Skate to Victory'

This material isn't on The cutting room floor.

We mostly covered the texture/model data on the TCRF page, because that's what we've actually got access to at the moment. I didn't see a texture for this "dark glass", but I assume it's the same texture as normal glass? I'm not sure how materials/in-game objects are stored in the game's data, but whenever we uncover that, we'll be sure to create a section for it on the page

If anyone wants to help out, We could use all the info we can get. If there's anything people have actually found in-game and not via data, like the Dark Glass, it'd help out a lot. As of now there's a lot missing on the page that involves glitches and/or templates to find the unused content.

Also, if anyone's wondering, the LBP2 page will be really dull until we can figure out how the game works. All the LBP1 content can be uncovered fine, but little to none of the LBP2 data can be found the same way we found the LBP1 content. It'll take some time

Will you be able to show the LBP2 choking animation anytime soon?

it'd be most optimal to rip the animation itself from the game, but considering we can't even get textures or models out animations are a stretch. I'd figure LBP1 animations should come first because they're most likely the same format in LBP2, just compressed differently.2014-10-21 20:58:00
