4 Players ?

Archive: 14 posts

Is there any specific reason why that game remains at a 4 player cap ?

It was often the case in LBP1 that I would not be able to join friends due to a lack of room.

It seems strange to me that this limit has not increased even to 5 or 6. I may be forgetting something that makes that completely impractical... but what are your thoughts?

Perhaps for online the player cap could be 5 or 6, but for couch co-op, it can only be 4 people due to only 4 controllers being able to be used at a time. Also, I don't mean to come off rude with this (if I do somehow), but I don't think it's the PS3's fault that LBP doesn't support more than 4 people at a time. Because, if you think about it, you can have around 13 (in my experience) sackbots without the game starting to lag. So, with that being said, that must mean that 13 actual people should be able to play without lag, right? So what's the problem with increasing the online cap one or two more slots? (I could be wrong with what I just said, but this is what I think.)2014-10-16 04:37:00

Lol

Yeah, there can't be anymore than 4 players I don't think that lbp could handle that much

Sounds like a good idea. Someone should make a poll thread

I'm supporting the claim to increase multiplayer player cap. I'll make the poll, however I'm unsure where to place the poll thread to make the thread official, and let StevenI or game developers see it. If there's some way of promoting threads to make the thread more visible I'd do it.2014-10-17 14:56:00

I could see it happening on the PS4, but definitely not the PS3. To be honest, seven sack people in your pod would probably cause it to break. (Very claustrophobic aswell. ._.)2014-10-17 21:23:00

I believe he was referring to the PS4's controller limit.

Also, the player limit (almost 100% certainly! ) is not a technical limitation. It is rather just a design choice by Media Molecule way-back-when, which has carried throughout the game's existence. Four players is a classic choice for multiplayer games anyway. It's always possible to see more players in future releases, but (if I were to guess) it's very unlikely.
