Instead of there just being a material made to look like weather why not have a weather section in global settings, for instance there could rain and snow. When rain is activated it could give materials a shiny effect and have little splash effects, it could also make Sackboy look wet and get rid of fire. Snow could make the ground white as snowflakes fall from the sky, snow could get on Sackboy and get rid of fire. Also when Sackboy walks in snow it could leave footprints.

about this, sumo will be giving even more tools, that make once created weather look even better, and tailored more to your needs, which eliminates the need for global weather
