Cage and Sage Unchaged

Archive: 15 posts

Hi all

I have started a new series, called Cage and Sage. This is a single player or two player level, two players is most fun especially couch co op. This level has no sacks just two bad *** cubes doing damage to those in their way on the mean rooftops of a city similar to New York. This is a platformer beat-em up.

You only get one life so don't be reckless and stock up on health for the Boss, Tip his weakness is his eye or eyes....

Please help me with difficulty tuning, it may be too hard, I never can tell, though I want it to be challenging at the same time...

If this level is well received I will continue with cut scenes and other episodes.

Thank you all

I just checked the stats on my level and I noticed nobody has completed it yet out of 25 plays, is it too hard?2014-10-14 18:47:00

I'll give it another go, I didn't realise it was one life only, so was unconcerned with my health bar. I think I got as far as a boss though, so not too hard up to that point.

Played again, no problems, and it actually plays better the second time round, when you're more familiar with the mechanics/weaponry. Got to the end of the warehouse no problem, and the level ended but no scoreboard, which would probably explain why it looks like no-one is completing - it's definitely not too difficult. Thanks for this, not too many levels let you hit a killer kitty over the head with a golf club. : )2014-10-18 15:08:00

I played it, and died after the boss, the lava is bottomless, so I walked into it to see if there was anything to see (had plenty of health), but then fell to the bottom and couldn't wall jump my way out of it again.

Also I did get stuck at the section where you need to hit the wall.

As it was the first time you needed to do that I feel it was too far into the level to introduce a destructible environment. You do such a great job of introducing the food, the ladders and weapons at the start, by the time I got to that section I was not looking for new gameplay concepts.

Also It was a little discomforting hitting the stunned cat with the golf club for so long. If you hit the cat and it gets stunned, then it should fade out on it's own.

Stunning it seemed permanent, so requiring the player to keep hitting it felt a little mean.

Great advice man!

1. Cheers you found a bug, the club is supposed to keep spawning next to the gate, I have fixed that.

2. OK I put a danger sign next to the pit, sweet!

3. You don't need to keep hitting the cat on the head, you are free to go once it is knocked out or you can choose not to attack it at all...

P.s I put that pit there because I know people would jump in, I am sadistic and like to reward caution haha!

I played it with one of my friends. We didn't had any bugs or problems with it, we just had to figure out controls.

It was nice and brilliant level. Pretty unique! It made it to my heart list! Haven't seen anything like that before. It was also pretty medium. Except the boss. It was pretty easy. No complaints.

I love this level. Stupid rabid crazy attacking cat running around killing me, ha!

Love it, alas I didn't make it to the end so will be back. It's got such charm and quirkiness to it.
