Use of the Select Button / Moving Good Grief to Start Menu

Archive: 11 posts

Moving the Good Grief report option to the Pause screen instead of Select Button on PS3 and the (what im assuming is the share button?) on PS4.

- This would add another button to work with On LBP. as a default like on sackboy and friends, it should function as a Taunt Button. When pressed a menu will pop up with 8 slots which you can choose a taunt to do. Much like Team Fortress 2. Only you know... with Sackboy.

- The Select Button could also be used on controlinators. serving as a way to make your own inventory space if you choose for your level to not use popit, or if the supposed 5 powerup limit of the Sackpocket doesn't do you much justice.

Other Possibilities could be:
- Entering Spectate Mode if you wish to watch in versus levels
- Mapping certain popit commands like cleaning your costume or instant death pop
- Displaying a full screen Map if you choose to not have it on screen all the time.
- Anything else I can't think of at the moment.

Well PS4 doesn't have a select button, and they can't use share for that. So chances are they'd move it.

I think I heard touchpad can be used for pop it but have t heard anything else

I would desperately LOVE to map a popit command to SELECT. I'm thinking it'll maybe be a quick popit, who knows? It'll have 5 slots like the sackpocket, and you can bind tools to it. A tool unavailable to the player can be grayed out, so we'll still not have the ability to slap a popit powerup in the menu and pull it out in play-mode.

Me, I'd bind my costume, boost-boots, and PNT-47. (If you don't know how I'll bind the powerups, I'd go over into the powerups tab in the global settings.)

TO THE LOVELY FORUM ADMINS: I do not classify this as "old". If I see 2013 or earlier as the year in a date, then it's old to me.

It could open oppurtunities for other things, but pressing that button briefly pauses so you can catch the problem in action. Going to the pause menu then the good grief menu could make you lose the opportunity to catch the person. They could be gone before you get there.2014-12-16 00:03:00

That is a great point.

However, maybe we could hold square to open that menu i thought of?

The PS4 has no select button. This would give the PS3 players a huge advantage and even though the PS4 looks better, the PS4 version has no exclusives to the PS4 (except for the live stream sensor for live streams only!)2015-02-16 05:33:00

Well some could argue that using the touchpad to create is an advantage for the PS4..... Also PS4 can record level trailers and I believe the feature Camera Shine on materials is a PS4 only feature.

Hmmm... I think the only one I use is the trailers. As for the camera shine feature, I'm pretty sure that that is on the PS3 version. Also, the select thing could open up PS3 only levels. The touchpad and trailer are create mode functions.2015-02-18 23:41:00

They should've just put the screenshot button on Select. Then it'd be like a pseudo-Share button.2015-02-19 02:38:00
