Space Oddity - A new level [Current Phase - Early Beta]
http://lbp.me/v/qtddcv4

Hi! This is a massive project I'm working on, and I've only pinned down a small segment of the first level yet! Please play and critique me, and I will gladly fix up things you don't like or think could use improvement.

Short Backstory:
April 4th, 2222. Contact with the The HMS Odin, a veteran of the Earth-Sirius cargo route, has been lost. The ship vanished 4.4 light years away from Earth at 4:44 AM.

You are a Crewmember aboard the Odin, who has just waken up from a decade-long stasis. A computer voice tells you to evacuate. What has happened?

I have queued the level though I cannot play it until tomorrow. By the way good luck with your creation!

I'll give some feedback once I've played the level.

I am going to be honest, it was less than I expected. I played it 5 times and could not get past the electric hologram about 1 minute into the level. I just couldn't figure out how to get past it. Additionally, you got a story going. Not many levels do. But if the player cannot progress neither can the story. Give the player some direction and a faster pace to the level. This will really spice things up.

Glitches:
The lift sometimes gets stuck and prevents the player from going down.
The third spawn point doesn't activate.

Tweaks:
I know the level is supposed to be dark but its almost at a point where you cannot see at all, make it slight brighter.
Make the bounce pads rotate up and down on a 90 degree angle, it takes way too long for it to make a full rotation. The players don't want to waste time.
The 90 degree slope that the player climbs once they get off the lift is annoying to get up. Lower the 90 degrees to about 60 degrees. This will make it faster to travel up and look more inventive.

I'd throw some more feedback your way but I couldn't get far like I said previously, sorry.

Alright.
It's an extreme work in progress by the way.
The plasma hologram is the end of the level, a force field. The level link there will be connected soon.

A level link a minute into a level is rather sudden.

1. Way too dark at the beginning. I played it a second time before I figured out what I was doing...and I'm still not sure what I did. I eventually just fell. A little light there would be nice.
2. The motor platform. I'd replace the motor bolt with a wobble, like it was said before. Way too touchy to have to wait for that entire rotation. Also might want to crank the bounce pads on the floor just a bit so it's easier to get to the moving ones.
3. Once I got to the cable power-up i couldn't figure out what to do. I kept dying and went through all four of my lives trying to figure it out.

Put some fixes in place and I'll go back and take another look.

If you are interesting in reciprocating, check out The Goop Factory in my sig.
