Star Wars: Ewok Village...Eeeeccteeeraaaaa

Archive: 21 posts

Hey Kidz

I published a new level recently, but been having a lot of trouble with the level link for some reason, but who knows, you may get lucky! : / It's more or less a pure platformer, not so much of the cinematics for this one ( i needed a break from 20 cutscenes per level!).

Probably my last LBP creation, so hope you enjoy it if you play.

EDIT- republished separately, the level link just isn't working 95% of the time.

Fun level! I got stuck where you pull the lever. I didnt notice that anything really happened there to advance. What did I miss?2014-09-26 22:39:00

Which lever Shookie? In Pt 1 or pt 2? I can think of 1 lever-y type thing in each part, and in both cases a platform/s of some kind should appear and enable you to proceed.2014-09-26 22:48:00

Part one. There was a wheel spinning below my feet and I did that for over a minute but no platform appeared.2014-09-26 23:19:00

Did you try spinning it both ways? Theres arrows on the wheel to show you the right direction....2014-09-26 23:40:00

Great level, Jules. The forest design is great, and the gameplay is phenomenal. From riding a speeder bike all the way to jumping over the AT-AT Walker, this level is filled with great ideas. One problem I have with this level is that after I slammed on the platform after the AT-AT walker part and died, I wasn't able to respawn so I had to start the level again. Other than that, excellent job and I hope you continue with the series on LBP3.

A yay, heart, and positive review

Glad you enjoyed Justin, and I'll check out that spawn point, thanks for feeding back. The spawn is attached to the moving platform, did it just not work, or did you fall through the level?

Heh, thanks Bio. It kinda depends on what transpires with the LBP2 - LBP3 transfer. Including subs, I'm up to 19(!) of these levels in LBP2, and I can leisurely finish off the series in 3 if they go over ok and I get the space.

I really loved the level. It is really artistic, amazing level design, and the gameplay was very fun. I would say more, this is one of the best levels i've played in LBP 2, there was no lagg at all. I truly recomend everyone who likes LBP (and Star Wars) to play it! It's a shame that such an amazing level has so little plays, this should be a Team Pick so everyone can find it in LBP and have fun playing it!

Congratulations Julesyjules, i really love all your job in LBP, and i really hope you don't give up on creating!

Thanks for that. Glad you liked the design side of things btw, it took an age to work out how to light it right, a convincing forest type vibe is a tricky one, the green shades in the Global Lighting are a bit nasty and primary. Cheers!2014-10-10 18:50:00

Wow... I missed this level thread completely.

I played this twice - once with the level lock issue, and then I got to play through the whole thing once you r published. Fantastic stuff. I especially loved the bouncing up through the moving platforms.

A bummer this is your last one. I've really enjoyed all your levels, and I've been waiting with baited breath for years to see each new creation. But, I totally understand. The time it takes to create these things can be a huge weight. I burned out a while ago. I have to admire your stamina.

I was really looking forward to seeing what you would do with the Luke/vapo4 final battle. I'll have to dream about that.

Great stuff!

Hey man, awesome level!

Just wanted to let you know I had to restart. Just after the speeder chase, I managed to dash my way through the very left hand trees and made it right outta the level. Then I popped. It put me on a speeder down towards the bottom of the map. Couldn't do anything, so I popped again. Then it just put the cam on the speeder...

Just wanted to let you know..

Great work man!

Thanks for posting Cubb, I'm going to see if the levels transfer into LBP3 ok, so long as they do, I reckon I can finish. FINALLY! ; )

Great to know, there's supposedly logic to prevent that but it must be a bit iffy, I'll sort that soon as I can, thanks a load for posting Smasher.

I was killed by a fly, and I saw some text sign above the screen in .00001 second. It could either be the "too many complicated" things caused me to not respawn judging by what the text I mentioned or it just didn't work.

Queued! Oh and no cuts scenes is good news

The presentation of this level is pro, I do like all the quirky ewoks and it reminds me of the ewok village Lego set. I commend you for making this a challenging level, however I think sackboy is too spongy to attack the platforms or maybe it was the camera angles but I did struggle to traverse the level, kinda like driving a race car with a rubber steering wheel. I would like an option to have a flat camera angle sometimes...

Levels pretty darn good and worth a bit of attention, I really want to get a high score ahaha.

Hey Clark, thanks for posting. By 'spongy' do you mean loose? The gravity setting? (Im assuming you mean the feel of the 'x'x'L1' Ground Pound platforms?)2014-10-17 17:41:00

No Sackboys handling is what I mean, I play a lot of old games, and Sackboys handling is always gotten to me, he needs to be catered for that's for sure. Because he traverses many layers the layer definition has to be clear via camera angles and shading, platform landing and orientation bla bla. I too have previous creations that he doesn't necessarily gel with Sackboy, but at the time that's what I wanted to do.

Ok, well I went through and loosened up a couple of the the tighter camera angles. The level/s pretty much play entirely in the front layer so there shouldn't be much confusion in that regard. Thanks for coming back on that!
