I posted this in another thread but found myself editing it every two minutes because I found another way to improve upon the idea. I decided to make it its own thread instead. In short, the object would allow the player to hear their music (on their HDD) from the genre specified by the creator. In length.... The Local Music Object would be tweaked in the following ways: Select Genre from list or type in your own What to play if player has no playlist? Select in-game song. Track Number? If so, select up to two numbers from 1 to 50 (You can choose the same number twice). ..................If not OR if one of the tracks doesn't exist, a track will be selected at random and looped. If two tracks (the first track will always play first), choose: Loop second selected track OR Alternate between tracks Volume for both tracks (looping the second track and setting its volume at zero would make the first track a stinger) A movie star AND THE REST MEANWHILE, the player will have the following sub-menu in the START/OPTIONS menu. Create Local Playlist Import Local Playlist Export Local Playlist Creating a new local playlist will erase the current one. The playlist will be divided into drop-down menus--one per genre. Each drop-down menu will have at least one blank slot in which to insert a song until that genre has 50 songs. Each slot in the drop down menu will have a track number. You can change the track number if you already selected a song for that slot. For example, you can change a song's track number from 1 to 3. If you do, the Track 3 song will become the Track 1 song if you selected a song for that Track. Each playlist can have up to 50 custom genres NOT including the genres already available. If you activate a Local Music Object with a custom genre that isn't in your playlist or a genre in which you have no songs, it will act as if you didn't have a playlist and play the default in-game song.

So a in-game music player that plays music from our HDD? LBP2 allows players to do so in the 'Pod'. Create mode I'm unsure but I know you can play your own music in the menus.

I was talking more along the lines of a music object/tool that when activated in play mode plays music from a particular genre on your HDD.
