What are you most excited about for LBP3?

Archive: 14 posts

The scheduled release date for LBP3 is only two months away! For some of us, this is the most awful two months of our known existence, waiting for something that will change the way we know our favorite franchise. For others, this is a great time to sit back and enjoy having free time. For still others, this is just another two months filled with life (Darn you patient people!)

We have had a number of snapshots about the upcoming LBP3 game. From a Gamescom video, E3 footage, a demo, and now the LBP3 game jam information and Ria's post about it (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=91607-LBP3-GameJam-Create-Mode-Revealed), its time to take a poll of what your favorite feature of the upcoming game will be. What has you most excited? The multiple layers? The new characters? New logic? Optimized gameplay? Stunning HD on the PS4?

Leave a comment here and some of your responses will be featured in next week's edition of This Week in LBP!

For me i'm most excited about the story and create mode. I even have so much ideas for levels and project for LBP3, Man when LBP3 launches I just might explode when i create with the new tools, costumes, and items and take a fall into the new story LBP3 has to offer. 2014-09-19 12:58:00

I'm excited about everything in LBP 3. I've been a fan of LBP since day 1, and I can't wait to see everything new that has been added to the game.2014-09-19 19:31:00

I'm mostly excited about Story Mode, probably won't do anything else until I'm done with it. That way I can let the community get a bit of steam before I get in the mess.2014-09-19 22:46:00

Honestly...just the dynamic thermometer. I just like the rise in thermo and the tools here to decrease it dramatically( hopefully not even worry about it!). THe character animator was pretty interesting too and the object saver tool. I really want to know how these work.

I've created quite a bit of RPG systems in LBP2 in my little secret pod for about three years now and I feel like a lot of the new"RPG" tools makes it simpler to do some of the things we could already do in LBP2, and mostly gives us more space. Like the quest tracker was really already solved with the Memorizer and magic mouths, but people that dont understand the memorizer can still accomplish that now, so thats really cool. I do think there are clever usages for this( like maybe putting achievements in an adventure or puzzle game.) It doesnt sound like the tools were really that customizable, so I am not really that interested in those.

I dont think we should have any more problems creating rpgs this time around.

This may seem small, but my favorite features so far that I know of is the localized water, climb ability, and the dynamic thermometer. All the new features excite me actually, and I'm sure there's more that we don't know about. With the localized water, it was said to need a bit of logic to get the sackboy/sackbot to swim though it. Maybe you put the Vita's Ghost Tool on water material, then an impact sensor, that triggers the swim animation? Also, I've had to create some crazy complicated logic to get sackbots to climb ladders in LBP2. Now we will be able to do it with ease. And with the new dynamic thermometers, I can go nuts with detail. I've always created these cool set pieces in my levels with lots of visual detail, but I would fill up half my thermometer extremely quickly. Not anymore.2014-09-20 22:05:00

- The new features in create mode
- The increased possibilities in create mode (well I hope there are increased possibilities otherwise what would be the point of LBP3)
- The new story mode looks interesting
- The levels created by the community

New types of advanced logic that let you take the community in whole new directions, evidence from videos of smooth layer transitions, more than three playable layers (that part actually intimidates me), the inevitability that Vita features are included (like hopefully the 20 sublayer positions per layer and the dephysicalizer.)... the list goes on.2014-09-28 14:26:00
