*Sea Legs: A "Rock it" Ship adventure. (pictures included)
Archive: 5 posts
This weekend I brushed the mothballs off a level over two years ago right before I got LBP2.I removed all the LBP1 sloppiness, updated the logic considerably and tweaked the first and last of the three sections. I still have to design and build the middle section, but other than that ... minor ... detail, the rest of it is really shaping up. You start out in an underwater maze, make your way to some waterline hijinks, then swing through the rigging on your way to the top. I included some hidden toys and a sticker key for my brick builder level that isn't quite done. As long as you find your sea legs, you will do fine. Others will get frustrated. If these pics look too dark, try to adjust your screen to a brighter setting for a better view. I don't know why they came out so dark, the level doesn't look this dark when I work on it or play it. http://id.lbp.me/img/ft/e8dd0ee667cda4d2570f1891f80d7172377d11fc.jpg http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/3625937de399f30f3c63bf4cbdf09c1141a33a41.jpg http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/ef43e6729929f4b12896876cca16824e95759677.jpg http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/e5a9c619c9c7f14cfc948964e374ab466fa3f8ba.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/8c9f1f9d8bbdf8eb6acc31c316a642808cd88d57.jpg http://id.lbp.me/img/ft/73dd5e7b56d833aaf919bfef101f361ad354c37d.jpg http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/31e1aedaae6c9d85da7b93b452c024a428738466.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/0f9a07bf4366761f35e5823ba04425dcb85551bd.jpg http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/c78af6001d89d69f966468e928a0c0c996719d16.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/70992a5f623791b41eb9a6cb0c3d59433b212612.jpg | 2014-09-08 12:20:00 Author: DreadRandal Posts: 434 |
I need one of those wheels. Also pics of you standing still could be misleading. | 2014-09-08 15:06:00 Author: xxMATEOSxx Posts: 1787 |
I need one of those wheels. Also pics of you standing still could be misleading. I agree, so I'm including some action pics here. As for the wheel, it's still one of my favorite creations (as well as earliest, not to mention elegantly simplest). If enough people request it, I could be persuaded to place a second prize bubble on the hidden ship. (The one that is there already contains a sticker key for my brick builder level.) Also, what the aych-ee-double-hockey-sticks, man? You are one of six people who played the thing, yet didn't give your impression of the parts that are done. Perhaps you could let people know if the finished bits are challenging or fun. http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/cb85ccf4589fedce7274aa3a5c9c45d4815f7bbc.jpg http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/43f5fdd359b7b4619e97137122c72b6a39c49dfd.jpg http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/44c5a898040e031749e446eff5fc4b587b8c48c4.jpg | 2014-09-09 03:00:00 Author: DreadRandal Posts: 434 |
Also, what the aych-ee-double-hockey-sticks, man? You are one of six people who played the thing, yet didn't give your impression of the parts that are done. Perhaps you could let people know if the finished bits are challenging or fun. You have a point, so here it is (one week later), Players, do you think you can swim, navigate a maze, jump, climb, swing, evade death, and otherwise platform your way to victory? Many can to varying degrees. But can you do it while the entire environment shifts back and forth on neverending swells? That's what you would be in for. The difficulty can ramp up very quickly. It can be rage inducing depending on the person, especially with lag (last I saw efficiency was being improved on that front), but more often it leads to humorous results, such as when bouncing around the deck of the ship. Mistiming a jump doesn't just mean missing. The ships movement means a lot of distance can be covered very quickly, only to have something knock you back to and fro. Anyway, it's not hard for the sake of it though. | 2014-09-21 05:51:00 Author: xxMATEOSxx Posts: 1787 |
I made a sample video. While the pics do a better job of showing how it looks, this cruddy video does a better job of showing what makes this level so diferent. (This level was almost finished in 2012 before I got LBP2, over a year before the cross controller pack came out containing an entirely moving level, but I ran out of steam and it sat dormant until recently.)
