Run Sackboy! Run! What do you hope to see?

Archive: 16 posts

Confirmed: Run Sackboy! Run! is targeted for release in October. It is going to be produced by XDev and Sumo Digital together (the makers of LBP3), and it will be free-to-play. You will be able to unlock content to use in LBP3.

What we don't know: What is the endless platforming going to be? It is labeled as a survival / platforming challenge. Are we expecting a more stylish version of the spammed 50 jumps levels? Are we expecting unique, multi-level running, jumping, climbing, and hopping? Is it going to be the Sack Puppet running from the Hoard or Meanies? How will the Sack Puppet gather the items in the levels?

What do you think the new game will be like?

You can read more about Run Sackboy! Run! on this PS Blog Post: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/04/run-sackboy-run-coming-to-ps-vita-mobile-devices/

Well, I imagine it's going to be a lot like Jetpack Joyride in that you run as long as you can while collecting point bubbles and maybe even powerups. Same premise. I super love Jetpack Joyride so I'm looking forward to this one. I do like the fact that the points you earn can be used to buy LBP3 costumes, a select few I'm sure, but still, that's pretty freaking awesome. Can't wait!2014-09-05 12:54:00

If it proves to be a good time diversion game I will probably play it. Especially since it ties into the LBP universe and unlocks content for LBP3.2014-09-05 14:19:00

Hopefully they also have costumes from LBPK, LBPV, and Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves. Since we won't be able to transfer them most likely, I think it's a good alternative to be able to unlock them through this.

The folks at xDev seem to be on an "Endless Runner" phase. It's all they mentioned with Oddsock during game play videos. I like how they're expanding the franchise. I'd normally hate milking things to death but LBP has a completely untapped ecosystem and is completely unique. It's like an entirely different medium (TV, Cinema, YouTube, LBP)! http://i.imgur.com/rqx89Fm.png2014-09-06 00:52:00

Well, I imagine it's going to be a lot like Jetpack Joyride...

Why do you always give such insightful and in-depth feedback? Its a sickness. Be more thorough and use less proper grammar.

I think I am hoping to see a Jetpack Joyride-like level the most. I like the idea of quick run-throughs that challenge me as a player. Sackboy's mechanics are old hat to me now, and I could use some challenge in platforming again.

I am not too upset with franchises that milk this thing. MarioKart is, in my opinion, one of the greatest racing franchises ever. And Mario was traditionally just a platfomer. SSB, too, became iconic as a great way of thrashing other characters and friends.

I will agree that I think LBP has the potential to have a thousand branchouts, and yet it doesn't. LBP-themed movies, platformer games, minigames, fun apps... I could see all of these being a blast. I really want more of this kind of thing to come out.

Those costumes aren't from lbp psp. They're from lbp2, vita and karting

Part of that may be because different genres can be made within the games we have. Don't get me wrong, for example you can't make a racing game in LBP2 the same way that you can in LBPK, but it is still possible. I wouldn't mind seeing other primary genres for lbp sort of like what LBPK did but I wouldn't want new games to release too often.

F2P and LBP3 unlockables. There really isn't anything from stopping me from playing this.

And hey who knows, it could prove to be rather entertaining. If not well, I've been wrong before.

If anything it looks addicting. It's even likely that LBP will gain new fans since this game will cater to mobile game players (Also because it's free)

Broadening awareness of the brand pre-release of LB3 is a smart move.2014-09-09 17:44:00
