DLC Recommendations for an Avid Creator?

Archive: 12 posts

Before we begin: I've already got the following related content: Metal Gear Solid, Monsters kit, Pirates of the Caribbean, PS Move Pack, Cross-Controller Pack, DC Comics, Spring Creator Kit, Summer Creator Kit, Autumn Creator Kit, Winter Creator, Festive Goodies, Valentines Day

Hey LittleBigPlaneteers, I'm here to suck in my pride and ask for your help. I'm always trying to find new ways to improve my levels, and sometimes what that takes is just a bunch of new content entirely. So I need recommendations.

The things I'm most interested in are: Materials, Decorations, Sound Objects, and Lights. Also--specifically pertaining to decorations--I'm trying to find new natural foliage too (game is lacking in that area massively).

So, which remaining level packs, premium level packs, or creation kits do you folks recommend?

The official site gives you a peek at many of the goodies in the pack, and you can filter for packs that have decorations: http://littlebigplanet.playstation.com/downloadable_content_items/search?category[]=5&category[]=24&page=1&q=&utf8=%E2%9C%93. Looks like the Nightmare before Christmas pack has some plant stuff.2014-09-05 11:57:00

My strategy has always been "buy every level pack" so as far as I know, I have every one available from the store. It looks like you are missing Muppets, Marvel, Incredibles, Toy Story, History and Nightmare Before Christmas. Each has its merits and downsides. I would start with Toy Story and Incredibles, because they may be a limited offer, seeing as they were previously retired but just returned.2014-09-05 19:10:00

As most people have already said your best bet is too buy all the level packs ( especially the toy story and incredibles kit whilst you can ) as they all contain good prizes, good stickers and they all will help you in one way or another2014-09-05 20:29:00

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I guess I'll begin with those two and work my way to getting the rest. You can never have too many options! (seriously though, at this rate we might need new ways to organize all of our stuff. I've only got like 1/10th of the costumes in LBP, and already it can be hard to find what I'm looking for).

I've also heard that the team ICO costume pack has a sound object included. Does anyone know what kind of SFX that features?

Dang, I looked it up too. Surprised the MediaMolecule official video didn't pop up. Maybe I worded it wrong. Thanks! Those are actually pretty good for the level I'm trying to make. I guess I'll put it on the list.

The Nightmare Before Christmas pack has some amazing stuff in it. Music, sound effects, materials and everything. It has a really nice spiral sticker too, which is awesome.

The Shadow of the Colossus pack has some sound effects. They're pretty cool for the most part, but there are so many alternatives now that it might not be worth it anymore.

Also, I know you aren't particularly looking for stickers, but the Vera Bee sticker pack and Alice in Wonderland kit have some pretty nice looking foliage stickers. The undersea creatures (Is that the name? I dunno. The fish one) pack also has some nice stickers in it, in my opinion.

I'm a sticker guy, so stickers are usually what convinces me to buy LBP DLC.

Yeah, I've got so many stickers already though, and I use so few. My levels aren't very sticker-friendly, usually because of how I tweak the lighting.2014-09-07 06:22:00
