A door/teleportation glitch???

So What I'm trying to do is make it so the player can walk up to a door, tap the door, and have it act as if the player just walked through the door, by controlling a bot in another area. I use a controlinator combo to do this, which you can see in the pictures.

The problem I was having, was whenever a player taps too many times on the door, a toggle keeps switching back and forth and messes things up. This can happen especially during when a player accidentally leaves the room and quickly taps over and over while waiting for the controlinator to release the character.

My answer to this, add a delay to when the door was active. If the door is tapped, a tag is turned off, thereby freezing the door for 6 seconds. The teleport worked before I put the delay in. And it works in create mode. However in play mode, I get in to the controlinator, the camera moves to the bot, then the bot is uncontrolable and Im stuck. Also notable is that the popit menu is working when this happens, and I have the controlinator set to disable popit controls.

Could I be over thinking this? The problem is I've been working on designs for a level I'm working on for so long I just need another set of eyes and another brain to look at it.

have an inverse countdown timer that turns on connected to a node that seperates the knock from the rest of the system. this way the knock signal goes thru once and cant go thru again for another 6 seconds.2014-09-08 16:30:00

Hmm, I can't find a solution right now, but I will think if I can find one. especially the disabled popit controls problem sounds strange.2014-09-08 16:35:00

I haven't used the timer idea yet, I'm finishing a few other things atm. A bit more information for whoever wants to help: Pressing buttons while in a controllinator which is showing a specific 'movie" cut scene, sometimes sends the player out of the controlinatr even though disable player controls is on during the scene. Thoughts?



SO, I just typed up a whole big thing and lbpcentral just deleted it instead of submitting it even though I hit submit... so I wont be typing anything big up again. I solved my problems by using the delay logic explained above with the tag sensors, it's flawless. The problem resides in the controllinator. There is a glitch which is now known, but not known to the community since it isn't listed in the glitches for the game, where the controllinator auto-entry simply decides to stop working after the first entry while coupled with a tag sensor like I had. By switching the controlinator to manual entry, I fixed all my issues.
