Darkness Race/Battle

Hey community. Trying to put out some LBPK levels that are unique. I liked the idea of driving in complete darkness and using other resources (the kart and weaponators) to find your way. I feel like the AI is about right for the race, but I feel like they may be too smart for the battle. I was hoping for some opinions on how to improve. I am still wanting to keep the darkness theme and stark simplicity, but would love some fresh eyes to give it a go and see the things I am overlooking / stuck on. Will do F4F. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, nice one. I liked the simplistic theme too. I'd suggest the weapon cubes be slightly brighter though and maybe just occasional points of light on tighter turns.

Possibly use one colour for the left hand side of track and another for the other if that makes sense. It can still be very minimal to stick with the theme.

Another option to achieve this above would be to put a small light source on a path follower motor attached to the fence path. Put the motor on a fairly quick speed. In effect this will give you a small 'flash' of light occasionally at random points throughout the entire circuit.

I got to play the race, not the battle yet - but I'll get to it soon.

Loved the race, really cool concept. I really liked having to rely on my headlights to find my way, and clusters of weapons giving periodic areas of visibility. It added a lot of apprehensiveness to the track.

Like Scorpio, I found a couple turns pretty sharp without the forewarning of sight. However, instead of adding more lights, I think this could be helped by simply increasing the handling so you can respond to the sudden fence easier.

Also, I would have really liked to see a larger variety of weapons. Only having the lob and the mine made it almost impossible to take out other drivers (probably due to a lack of any AOE on them). Still, a rocket or straight shot of some sort would have been a great addition. Of course they would need to be a light in some way too .

I'm looking forward to playing the battle later.
