Favourite band! - not genre BAND!!!
Archive: 103 posts
Hey all. theres a favourite type of music but this is favourite band! So just post saying your fav band and why you like them- if you want. ill start off Bring me the Horizon because they are awesome live - if oli isnt smashed that is... and also there the biggest musical inspiration to me, i thank Matt Nichols and Oli Sykes mostly because i play drums but i also sing... a bit... not much... there screamo so dont have a go at me and say stuff like "Screamo is for emos you loser" because if your fav band/singer is say Dizzy Rascal i can come back at you with "Rap is for wannabe gangstas( aka. a chav...)" | 2009-02-22 00:30:00 Author: Zommy Posts: 1232 |
Kinda hard to pick one but I think I'll go with... AUDIOSLAVE! They're broken up now tho. | 2009-02-22 00:56:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |
if your fav band/singer is say Dizzy Rascal i can come back at you with "Rap is for wannabe gangstas( aka. a chav...)" Dizzee Rascal is way better than BMTH, IMHO. BMTH are OK, but they sound too much like every other screamo band. Dizzee is one of the few grime artists to break through to the mainstream (although Plan B is quite successful too). Anyway, my favourite band would have to be Alkaline Trio (http://www.alkalinetrio.com/) and my favourite solo artist would have to be Elliott Smith (http://www.sweetadeline.net/). There's loads of other top bands out there, but them two stick out the most for me. EDIT: Why do links to YouTube automatically turn into videos, that's rubbish. It's redundant as we have [youtube] tags. | 2009-02-22 01:02:00 Author: Winston-Smith Posts: 81 |

I never noticed. Well I don't hate you, I guess I just have different tastes =P Also, Ive not heard much of BMTH (only really the commercial stuff) do maybe that have more depth than I'm giving them credit for. As for Audio Slave, they're ok they have a few good songs, but they're just not as good as RATM and Soundgarden were. It's like Velvet Revolver, they're just not as good as as GnR, Stone Temple Pilots and Wasted Youth were. Some how something has got lost in the merging of the bands. | 2009-02-22 01:10:00 Author: Winston-Smith Posts: 81 |

This will be strange, given my username, but at the moment, Avenged Sevenfold would be my favorite, though Iron Maiden are definitely my favorite overall who i have like the longest. I also like Guns n Roses and BFMV... oooh and My Chemical Romance | 2009-02-22 11:04:00 Author: Unknown User |

Remember, folks, if something is your "favorite" then it requires no explanation at all; there's no need to justify an opinion. If I have to choose just one - and let's just say I do - I'd say Pearl Jam. Been a favorite of mine for over a decade at this point and they're still one of the best live acts ever. Runners-up would include NIN and Coheed & Cambria. | 2009-02-23 15:58:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |

Radiohead, no doubt about it. Takes a while to 'get' a few of their albums... but once you do you realise they're possibly some of the best albums ever made. | 2009-02-24 20:35:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

And you and I were getting along up to this point... Hahaha, not a fan? Thom Yorke is a genius in my eyes What he and the boys has made after OK Computer is just amazing. That 'it's so depressing' generalisation is just a load of crap. I also love Interpol, Sigur Ros, Burial, Blonde Redhead, At The Drive In, Sunshine Underground, and liking Santogolds album atm. | 2009-02-25 18:09:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

My favourite band right now, is definately Staind. They make amazing music and it's mostly pretty peaceful The lyrics actually mean something, insteda of just shouting around like a mad man. | 2009-02-25 18:41:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |

No, I'm not a fan per se, but I don't absolutely hate their music either. Actually, I'm more inclined to not flip the station if it's something from Kid A or later. Not too depressing either; you're talking to a huge NIN fan here... Don't know what it is really; I've just never found the music that... profound. To each his own though; there are definitely worse bands you could call your favorite. | 2009-02-25 18:42:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
My favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode. NIN is my fav band for live. Some other bands I like: Portishead Radiohead Marilyn Manson Muse The Faint IAMX Tweaker | 2009-02-26 02:06:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Always have and always will be a Dave Matthews Band fan...nothing like making a 5 min song into a 20+ min song in concert...then Weezer for sure. I almost dropped my laptop when someone said they never heard Sublime maybe just a different taste or generation but still there are a few here I never have heard about too. | 2009-02-26 03:30:00 Author: OverWork Posts: 873 |

Another vote for thom yorke/radiohead! misty. I would vote for that, but I'm more old school and my entry shall be for Queen. Bohemian Rhapsody blows my mind. | 2009-07-30 16:18:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |
Bohemian Rhapsody is an amazing song (But what the heck does the title mean, anyway??) but I'm not really a huge fan of Queen as a general rule. I think I'd have to say that my favorite band has to be Iron Maiden. That is, as an overarching favorite. I mean, I get current favorite bands from time to time, but I'll always love Maiden. | 2009-07-30 16:22:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |

Innaway (http://www.myspace.com/innaway). In particular, their self-titled debut. What started as an impulse buy back in '06, turned out to be my favourite album of all time. I've listened to it countless times, probably 2 or 3 times more than any other album, which says a lot since considering Dark Side of The Moon and Led Zeppelin IV are in my top 5. From rock to psychedelia to metal to electronica, these guys pull it off effortlessly and that's just their debut. Their nice guys, too; the singer personally leaked me their new record through facebook! They've drawn comparisons to Air, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Tortoise amongst others, so if you're remotely interested in any of those bands do yourself a favour and check 'em out. | 2009-07-31 07:03:00 Author: EVOin3D Posts: 91 |
System of a down. I don't know why I like SOAD so much, except that it's just great! They are on indefinite hiatus right now, but I hope they come back together. BTW. I'm listening it just now | 2009-08-02 20:29:00 Author: ZramuliZ Posts: 55 |

Hmm, well for me it's a tie between UK bands QueenAdreena, The Decemberists and New Model Army right now... ...but I'm so fickle, it'll probably be Cliff Richard or David Hasselhof by this time next week. Depeche Mode, The Cure, NIN (pretty hate machine), Ministry (with sympathy), Radiohead (In Rainbows), Bjork, Beck, The Avalanches, Beastie Boys, Gorillaz, Daft Punk (not really a band), Bad Religion, Portishead, Tricky, The Killers (some), The Beatles (Magical Mystery Tour) , Pink Floyd/ Syd Barret...geez Louise I could go on all day... Let's see, my favorite bands would probably be: ?Forward, Russia! (on indefinite hiatus) 65daysofstatic DARTZ! (broken up D: ) Dinosaur Jr Giraffes? Giraffes! God Is An Astronaut Godspeed You! Black Emperor (on indefinite hiatus) Kay Kay And His Weathered Underground Minus The Bear Muse Small Leaks Sink Ships The Killers You Say Party! Ah...a fellow Cure fan! Have you tried my Gothic Reverie levels, based on songs by The Cure? yep! played them both...theyre really fun. I do like the first one better, however (just has a creepier vibe ) I left a comment like 3 months ago on the first one! haha Anyway, theres just something about Robert Smith...that blank hopeless stare into oblivion when the rest of the sane work-driven world looks and laughs and quickly judges him based on his appearance...hes just really creative (and alot of people don't understand 'the other side' of life because they havent put much thought into it [or opened enough 'doors of perception'] *wink) I wouldn't trade those youthful 'mistakes' for a minute...LOL | 2009-08-23 16:42:00 Author: miltonTPS Posts: 126 |
Symphony X I love Progressive Metal and they are the best progressive metal band I know. I have 4 of their albums (the best ones) and I like every single song on all of those albums. I can't say that for any other band. | 2009-08-23 18:46:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |

nine inch nails - definitely favorite band ever. especially lights in the sky tour line up with josh freese, robin finck, alessandro, and jmj. and trent obviously. i wish i got tickets to their last round of shows here in the states, but sadly was not lucky enough. i did get to meet most of them once at a meet and greet though, so i cant complain too much!
