Sackboy- Superhero

Archive: 9 posts

This is my latest level. You become a superhero in Downtown...a city that greatly needs a hero. Points and prizes to be won.

Let me know what you think either here or commenting the level...
i can do about 5-10 levels during the course of the week for the F4F.

If you type 'superhero' its on page 2.

Thanks

Edit: just seen how others do this...okay so:

Time to make: 10-15 hours
Difficulty: medium
Players: 1-2, any more it becomes slightly complicated but is possible.

Hey Danege, I just gave your level a run through. First let me say that I really like the premise of your level. The town needing a superhero and you have to do various tasks to prove yourself was very cool. I really enjoyed the tasks of rescuing the cat and the people from the building and then being rewarded with my name on the front page of the paper!

My suggestions would concern the visuals mostly. I would suggest using some stickers on some of your civilian characters. You're other characters look good, but the civilians are kind of plain. Also, I had a bit of difficulty actually pushing the characters off of the building to safety. The bit with them falling into the ambulance was nice!

You've got a great concept here. I would recommend that you continue to work on it, try and make a city that's even more alive and filled with even more challenges for the superhero to tackle!

Welcome to the the forums then! A lot of people, including myself, have their levels listed in their sig with a link to their original thread. So, just click on either one and you can leave feedback. I'd recommend doing the same, so that when you leave feedback for others, they will be able to see your levels listed.2009-02-22 20:39:00

Ok... I just played through your level. I liked the concept of the level. I thought that SuperHero Central (your headquarters) had a lot going on. A lot of different materials - a little too many.

I liked the cat puzzle. And I liked the concept of the burning building. But I noticed a few things. One. You can see reality on the left when you are done. So the curious person is going to think that stuff is over there. And that just gets you back down to the ground, and no way to get back up.

And Along that same vane, if something happens and you don't push the people off the building and you fall off, the same thing can happen. You might want a spawn point on the building.

Also, pushing people off seems a little sick...

What about possibly having a jetpack there, and having to pick people off and tossing them into a fireman's net, and maybe even having to get people out of the building (as in inside of it) so that would make someone have to fly into the building and not get burned?

After that, you have no more puzzles.

I sort of wish there was one more - maybe some sort of "strength" test, or something else superhero related.

Overall, I liked it though. Just needs some tweeking maybe.

fair points, i like the spawn point on top the building idea...The level is going to be continued like it said at the end so more tests will come...i did want to put a 3rd task in there but the thermo was getting too high so i thought id better not risk it.
As for pushing the people off...i dont really think its sick seeing as they're made out of virtual cardboard on a game, and land in an amblulance anyway ?? But yeah they doo need to be easier to push off.

Il try plays yous tonight and give feedback tomorrow.
