| I'm still finding myself revisiting the RE5 demo every little while, particularly when a friend comes over. It's just so, so solid, and no matter how many times I play it, I still find myself getting freaked out now and then, especially on the first mission, the town square one. Killzone I played a couple times, but it kind of lost its luster after a little bit. At least from a gameplay perspective. the graphics are still strawberry twizzlers for my eyeballs. I download and play nearly every single demo that comes to the PSN with the exception of sports games and some racing games. | Downloading the Yakuza 3 demo from the JP store at the minute. Played the RE5 demo, didn't like it much. I scoffed at people who said you should be able to move and shoot as not being able to worked so well in RE4. Now however I totally agree. It's as if it's an explosive action game being held back by the trappings of a survival horror game (ie. limited ammo & supplies and no move-and-shoot). The game should not be trying to do both. I didn't get any real sense of foreboding and didn't care or feel scared when I was killed by the chainsaw guy. I started playing RE4 to compare and the atmosphere is so much scarier (and that's a game that isn't really all that scary). Co-op also ruins any sense of foreboding that the game could have had... if you're on low health and don't use a herb to heal you deserve to die not be saved by your partner when you're dying. And don't get me started on the ridiculous enemy AI (especially the chainsaw guy who stood next to me for 2 seconds and then let me run by him... he eventually cornered me and I could get around him in time). I honestly think you could get through the big axe guy level using only your knife due to the lacking AI... I'll test this theory later. Also enemies that soak up bullets without any reaction or change in momentum are stupid. They had the chainsaw guy perfect in RE4, why the hell did they have to change it. Even if they kept moving, they could stagger ever so slightly. Really wasn't impressed and honestly I doubt I'll be buying the game. Which is unfortunate as I was really looking forward to it, especially after the trailer with "matrix" Wesker.
