Adding photos to a published level

Archive: 8 posts

Hi I've just published my first level, mainly a trial to make a few things, basic logic and such.
I've took a photo in play mode but can't seem to add it to the description on lbp.me

The link to the level is here if anybody wants to check it out! All constructive critisicm appreciated.

Also does anybody know how to make a vehicle spawn in a particular place everytime you start the level? There's a boat in my level, but it always spawns half way along my river and not at the jetty. I made a grab handle at the jetty which puts the boat into reverse for when you die during your boat ride, but its not ideal.

Thanks for your time and any help given.
Cheers Nickram

If you take a picture in the published level you can hit square and choose upload to put the picture online. For the boat I would think changing the emit location of the emitter should do it, right?2014-08-18 10:56:00

Thanks guys for what must seem pretty obvious to most people here, but it had me stumped for ages.
As regards to the emitter,I didn't use one. I just built a boat added a mover and a 3 way switch to it. I'm probably doing things the hard way, but I'm learning stuff all the time and loving every minute of it.

A good way to solve your boat problem is to un pause and watch it in create mode. There is a logical reason for it to move. If I had to guess I would blame the mover settings or something pushing the lever.2014-08-19 02:09:00

I see, I thought from the word spawn that you were already using an emitter. A fairly simple way to make a vehicle reset is to tweak an emitter to emit once, emit only 1 object at a time and destroy old objects when the limit is reached. Pick an appropriate trigger condition, for example a player sensor around the spawn gate, and connect that to the emitter. Now it will emit a new boat when the player first arrives in the trigger zone, and because there's already a boat in the emit place it won't emit a new one until the current one is moved out to sea. You may need to tweak things here and there to account for multiple players etc., but this should get you started I hope.

Thanks Rogar, that makes a lot more sense than the way I've done it. However I've learnt a lot of new things by doing it the hard way!
I've had loads of problems with emitters at another point in my level. I had 3 emitters controlled by a sequencer and a player sensor. The sequencer works fine as I have lights wired up to them as well, but the emitters don't emit the bombs I've selected. Tried tweaking all the options but they just don't do anything.
I'll go through the tutorial again in case I've missed something obvious.
Thanks again.
