Hello Little Big Planet comunity!!!

Hello everyone on this forum!

Im not new to LBP in any way, just new to this site. Im from Sweden and I have been playing LBP since the first game. I Bought my ps3 specifficly for Little Big Planet. The first game particularly is my favorite because of the storymode, costumes, artstyle and music. The second game became a little to plastic and repetitive for me to enjoy it more than the first one. It lacked the feeling of beeing small and I really prefer the non static fabric-y clothes, like the chinese dragon from the first one. It would be nice to see more clothes and hair that reacts to physics. Anyway, I have not been very succsesful when it comes to creating levels. How it works right now is that If I want to create a level, I plan for sections of it on paper, Then I Make up an awsome story in my head. After that I figure out that I want to have a boss. I try every kind of design untill it cant get any better. I have so many Ideas that I want to get into the level so I decide to split it into 3 levels plus a boss level. Then I start to create and it takes like three ours to create one Simple thing that I've already planned for on paper. After several weeks of struggling I finally give up. I have gone through this whole process at least four times. To look at it from the bright side I have learned a lot about how to design levels and how not to. I have a serious problem keeping things simple.

My intentions with joining this site is to get helpful advise and also to find people who are willing to play test my levels and give feedback.

You came to the right place!! Good luck with your project.

There are a ton of Tutorials covering all sorts of great topics. ..and any help, just post a thread in the Help forum. Now if you have a work in progress and would like some early feedback, or some ideas and testing, feel free to make a thread in the Ideas and Projects forum.

Hi Laxen,

welcome from me to our wonderful forum! I have started my LBP history with LBP2 and its been so great to me that I wanted to have LBP1, too! And its been no disappointment, I love bpth games! But I never tried to create in LBP1 because I started with doing music in LBP2 and to do music in LBP1 is a really complicate thing! I can fully understand you, if one has so many ideas and wants to do a really ambitious and great level, then you need a lot of patience and frustration tolerance! And encouraging! I'm working for nearly one year on my third music gallery and if I wouldn't have had a lot of encouraging words and feedback of the community, then maybe I also would have given up already! To let your levels be tested by some friends is a fantastic thing, because you get a better feeling for how design elements or gameplay elements are percepted by others, the longer you're busily working on a level the more danger to get stuck in a rut!
If you're looking for someone to test your creations, then I'm sure that you will find lots of friends to help you! I will also play your levels for testing if you want me to! So feel free to ask whenever you want a feedback!
Welcome and have a lot of fun here and don't give up with your projects, I'm sure that this would be a pity!

I know how you feel about creating, done it myself on many occasions, I thought I finally changed my ways with my newest levels but LBP2 just can't handle it so that's now been postponed until LBP3. You do have a point about LittleBigPlanet 1 being better than LittleBigPlanet 2. I personally like LBP2 more because of the new logic tools!

That is a good way to start creating levels. Making sections on paper makes it easier to remember in what way you want the sections to work/look.

Bosses always makes levels better!

If you do want people who can play your levels you can always go to the Find Other Happy Gadders (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?43-Find-Other-Happy-Gadders) and post a post there about your levels!
