Here is my latest level which is inspired by games like Space invaders and Titan Attacks.
The aim of the game is to keep as many humans alive as possible while being attacked by groups of aliens from bit-world who wish to destroy all smooth non bit like designs from the universe.

There are 4 main levels and 2 unlockable levels to play which proggress in difficulty. You will unlock some upgrades that will help you to save more humans as you play.

The controls may be a little tricky for some at first but if you read the tips and on screen tutorials it will be easy. The main feature is that you use triangle to shoot up, X to shoot down and square and circle to shoot left and right.

Make good use of bombs and shields as well as a well placed shield or bomb can mean the difference in life and death.

I hope this level is enjoyed and for those wondering don't worry i am still working on the second Aliens level, Grave Runner and Dark Star Rises though each have had their individual setbacks.

I played your level and enjoyed it! A lot! :hero:

Starting with the positives!
The UI is well designed and looks incredibly polished! The main menu offers a lot of choice, changing ship colour for example! The choice of music that the player has is large and the collection fits the level! Being able to see the album art makes choosing music really easily and as soon as I saw Tortoise on the list of songs, I instantly picked that. The loading screen is pretty cool. The game almost feels like a twin-stick shooter and it's really fun and easy to control. However, the game itself is pretty hard... but not in a daunting way... in an addictive kind of way. I can easily see someone sink a lot of time into this game. However... I couldn't.

Here's why. :kz:
The game moves too slowly for a space shooter. The player's ship moves slowly, the enemy ships move slowly, the player's bullets move slowly, the enemy bullets move slowly etc... This kind of slow gameplay only works with games like Space Invaders where there's a lot of space on the screen and there's a lot of enemies. This game can sometimes feel like a drag because of how slow it is...

But that's really the only problem I had. Apart from that, it's a great level/game!
In conclusion I'd say that this is a really fun and addicting game, but may be too slow paced for some people.
Overall 8/10

Hey Jovuto thanks for the great review and advice, I was worried the level was too slow as i prefer fast paced bullet hell shooters but out of 6 people to test this level only one thought it was too slow and the rest thought that based on the difficulty of saving the humans it was just right.
It does get faster as you level up but not much faster. I was a little unsure about speeding it up also as the humans would die too fast but i may change the speed you shoot as you are right.

I am expecting quite a few people won't get on well with the level so its mainly for those that like this sort of thing and those that can admire it for what it is.

Also its because of the slow pace there is no lag so at least thats a plus

EDIT : I just played it and I found it very nice ! The design is amazing and the mechanics are well-thought and polished. There is a lot of content as well with the upgrades and the secret levels.
It's pretty challenging so that's a good thing for that type of game. I personally wouldn't say that the spaceship is too slow as I don't truly consider it as a true shooter game. The bullets are pretty easy to avoid with the spaceship, but the real difficulty is the humans ! That's a pretty nice idea because it introduces a bit of "management" : you have to think about what enemy is the most dangerous for the humans. Really nice mix of gameplay, I liked it much The only thing that I could blame is that my victory was often due to the "high-speed bullet", so this is sometimes more based on luck than skill...

I had a little trouble working out how to give the player points at first as you were able to replay levels so thought up the save the humans idea as i could control the points dished out and removed based on replays.

I did think the highspeed power up did make it more luck based as all power ups are randomly spawned, what i should have done was make all pickups in one power up that switches between the different ones randomly like in another shooter i'm making then it would have been up to the player to grab the pick up at the right time to spawn the power up he wanted adding more strategy.


Thanks to all who have review and played this level so far. I am glad more people then i expected are enjoying it as it is pretty much an acquired taste just like my Striking Angels level was.
