Music Uploads!

Archive: 7 posts

Many people like myself have made a huge amount of music on LBP2, however we have never had a way to get our music heard other than within the game. I'm hoping that the new music sequencer and new instruments will come along with the option to upload the song to youtube or soundcloud! The same as we will be able to use the share button on PS4 to do just that for levels. This way it would prevent the quality of the music deteriorating when people record it with capture cards too!:star:2014-08-14 01:54:00

You can't share levels with the Share Button, you can share screenshots and videos. With the upcoming PS4 2.00 firmware you can finally share videos on youtube, so I guess the current way to upload your music is recording in an empty level with just the sequencer playing. But maybe uploading to SoundCloud or something would be better2014-08-14 03:28:00

Well, maybe what I'm about to say may seem crazy but you know how we can export pictures to the XMB? maybe there should be a way to export a sequenced song as an mp3. I'm aware it takes up more memory and would be difficult to do, but I suppose if it could be done then that's how.2014-08-14 05:32:00

This is the same sort of tracks I was thinking along. Or perhaps you could select the file type when exporting it such as MP3, MIDI or WAV.

I didn't mean share levels, I meant record a level and share it. So technically the same thing.

TOTALLY support MIDI exporting. I'm really wanting to remake some of my LBP music in Ableton Live so to be able to pop in a MIDI track of my chord progression would be wonderful. Only problem is, you guys are talking about exporting a song as MIDI.... Which isn't possible. Hahahah, not sure how they'd do it, but having a MIDI export for each track of your song would be fantastic. .wav files would be awesome but insanely out there and unnecessary. Until you're truly playing something on a huge system, (which LBP songs shouldn't be played on unless they add the tools I suggested in my hated music post like a month ago) you won't really need .wav files. As long as the .mp3 export is at 320 kbps it'll be okay.2014-08-14 17:02:00

Yeah, definitely. Though the OP was mentioning uploading to Youtube or Soundcloud and so that implies that it would be in mp3 format. Being able to export as a midi would be fantastic. Many of the musicians have programs we use outside of LBP. So for music being able to be exported as a midi, that allows us to continue working on our songs in ways that LBP would normally limit us.
