I think the only way to buy Solid Snake is to buy the costume pack which comes with Meryl, Raiden, and Screaming Mantis. You don't get the option of Snake on his own.

If you're into creating at all, I'd highly recommend the level pack though. In addition to the levels you get tons of new items and materials which makes this the best DLC theyve offered to date. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you've already bought the level pack, no, you can't play with a friend.

Actually you DO get the option of Snake on your own. It is just that I think that is 2 dollars, and all four together are 6 dollars. (Although I technically got it for "free"... my friend was very nice... uh... /runs).

And yeah, the MGS pack is COMPLETELY awesome, so GET IT! And... yeah :/. Much better then the costumes and better value too considering how much more it gives you >_>.

And I'll correct you as you said. It IS possible to play with a friend when you don't have it. You just go to their pod, and they see it. You can't, however, keep any prize bubbles, nor unlock any trophies- although I think that if you win a trophy while playing it with a friend, it will auto unlock when you buy it, but meh...

I know this for a fact since I used to have to plow people through it the first day when it was just released in America and people in Europe could only play it with American friends >_>. DrunkMiffy actually was the one who beat REX for me the first time lol.

Oh, and to the question at hand, the MGS Level Pack may be one of the best value DLC ever. I can't see myself using the Paintinator in any of my levels since what I'm working on now is more medieval based, but it is almost worth it for the VR Challenge alone. I know you can play it with your friends, but you can't use the materials in your own levels which are some of the best parts of it.

And a Solid Snake costume that you won't use as often for 2 bucks isn't the same value as three new music tracks, a new background, a few new epic levels, a new gun that can change your levels for awesomeness, a bunch of new materials, a new switch, missiles, and a way to create shumps and more for 6 bucks, so yeah :/. As Thegide said, it's essiental for anyone who actually wants to be a good creator- and those who justw ant the fun of it :/.

I don't have much to say because RockSauron just said it. I extremely advise that you buy the MGS level pack because the real value isn't in the levels that come with it, the real value is in the tools that come with it.

The levels are mostly there just to show you what you can make with the level pack. Much like the game, I think the story levels are just there to show you what you can make with the tools. The real hours of playing are actually making levels.
