Top ten LBP levels
Archive: 5 posts
I thought I would share my top 10 favourite community LBP2 levels, This was a challenge my friend asked me to do for LBP1 a long time ago so I decided to upload the LBP1 and also create one for my favourite LBP2 levels. I would be interested to hear everyone else's favourites. if you haven't played any of these I highly recommend them. Especially the no.1 LBP1 slot, I never understood why that level never had an MM Pick considering it was probably one of the first RPG level on LBP1 which is not an easy feat and before playing would have questioned it's possiblity. Neonsudagatz ARE YOU KIDDING??? SEALED FATE!! My list for LBP2: 10. Hyper Hexagon by Pirmaut - the only real remake to make the list, this is probably the most addictive mini game in LBP that I know of. It plays flawlessly and the special effects are gorgeous, not to mention the soundtrack. http://lbp.me/v/hycgdz 9. Tiki Boys Ruin Run by Archdan - it doesn't look anything like LBP. It looks and feel like a ps1 platformer, always a great thing in my book. http://lbp.me/v/qpyxx9x 8. Forest of Time by itarboyi - sticker based textures lead to a platformer of unparalleled aesthetics and creative yet fitting gameplay. http://lbp.me/v/dpxjmb 7. UFO Hunter: The Dreamland Chronicles - An intuitive point and click picture taking minigame backed by a creepy UFO based storyline. The visuals are fantastic and special effects flawless. http://lbp.me/v/f181tr 6. Crossed Souls by NJN13 - a fully animated fighting game featuring 20 characters from popular culture recreated with sticker panel, each with their own moveset and special attack, and theme song. All of this takes place on one of 7 maps ranging from star wars to half life to slender. And it only has 1000 plays. http://lbp.me/v/qqt6-7f 5. Super Bunnio by Steve_big_guns - It's cute and flawlessly executed and it might as well be it's own indie game http://lbp.me/v/76q4w9 4. FreeFallin' by Fotosynthesis1: A fun and visually stunning game that makes the best use of 3D progression of any level I've seen to create a breathtaking and addictive minigame. http://lbp.me/v/7vdd14 3. Galak-Z Raiden: Resurgence by Rodrigo_Filipino - a fast paced, action packed bullet hell shooter with literally millions of possible ways to outfit your ship and something like 5 boss fights. http://lbp.me/v/bypn4y 2. Avalore: The Sacred Trials by Hemflowhotflop - Without a doubt the best 3D scenery ever to grace LBP. Plays like the lovechild of Zelda and Shadow of the Colossus with all action and puzzles. http://lbp.me/v/csvbm6 1. Sealed Fate by Felkroth - The Definitive RPG in littlebigplanet. It has everything you could ask for, saving before the memorizer, a creative battling system, an intriguing plot, mindboggling visuals, a gorgeous soundtrack, and exciting minigames. There is unquestionably no better level in my opinion. http://lbp.me/v/8tt6z6 That's my list. It's probably up for debate, but I will stand vehemently behind Sealed Fate as the best level ever made. | 2014-08-13 05:31:00 Author: Tynz21 Posts: 544 |
You guys ought to post links to your favorites! My LBP 1 Top Ten: 10. The Lost Pharaoh (https://lbp.me/v/t6bjec) - At the time, I didn't know the 3D glitch was a 'thing' so the Pyramid at the start really amazed me. 9. ヨロズヤのお化け屋敷 (THE yorozuya ghost house) jpn (https://lbp.me/v/f141b6) - Just sort of an 'okay' level, but the theme makes me LOVE it. Turns out, anything with japanese horror ghosts or yokai I will instantly fave. 8. Vile Anchorage (https://lbp.me/v/tj4740) - I'm sure everyone agrees this one is pretty great. 7. Final Fight: Final Edition (https://lbp.me/v/bg364d) - Hilarious. Just like the real game almost! 6. ぜんじどー(A LEVEL THAT PLAYS ITSELF) (https://lbp.me/v/red31s) - Super fun to watch! Only works in LBP1. 5. Bora Bora Island Water Sports (https://lbp.me/v/rr312v) - I know this one got like... copied a million times over. It's still fun. 4. Digitized Reality: The Lab (https://lbp.me/v/qcpgq6) - It's basically a LBP2 level created in LBP1. 3. (頭を)ガブリもあるよ!大海遭難記(Distress in Ocean) (https://lbp.me/v/cz1-j) - Probably on everyone's top 10 list. 2. Something Beneath (https://lbp.me/v/snxv7j) - The best horror has a depressing weight of hopelessness. Horror isn't scary when it's a bunch of unlikable 20-somethings pretending to be teenagers, and getting bumped off one by one. The best horror situations are ones where the badness is so overwhelming, all hope is lost. 1. The Dinosaur City ~Dinosaurs Strike Back~ (https://lbp.me/v/4pfz2) - DINOSAURS. : D My LBP 2 Top Ten: 10. LittleBigMe (1P only ) (https://lbp.me/v/21t94f) - A creative sackbot level. Like LBP3's Toggle before Toggle was ever a 'thing'. 9. Assignment: Housework (https://lbp.me/v/kjpsj-) - It was a bit glitched when I played it, but it was fun to have my Sackboy be all childish and silly. 8. SackDroid - Part 1: A Train Crash (https://lbp.me/v/h3qtcq) - Very long, but the humor is great. Also has my #1 favorite LBP villain. (That I did not create, I mean.) 7. Powers Level Hub (https://lbp.me/v/k-v6jp) - I like Ruined Temple the most! I still think the levels are a bit bland and un-decorated, but the actual powers system redeems it. You can RUN ON WATER with the ice moves. Ice is the BEST. 6. The Cryptic Crypts: Another Arabian Night (https://lbp.me/v/kxp6wc) - Also very long. A puzzle level with some real thinking involved. A huge amount of fun, but you need a few hours set aside to play it. 5. Center of the Earth Amusement Park (Ugly Level Project) (https://lbp.me/v/kcbwv8) - The best horror has a depressing weight of hopelessness. Horror isn't scary when it's a bunch of unlikable 20-somethings- wait I've said this. This is one of those levels where I see it differently from the creator I'd imagine. To Smurfy it's probably like "Oh this is an original and cool idea!" But for me I see it as: "Someone set up a carnival dedicated to a tragic day of events, and now you're trapped there too. You have no hope of escape. The only thing you can do is descend deeper and deeper into the cosmic joke of inevitability, until ultimately you meet the same fate as the many who came before you." It's sort of like Green Ash, except with that the only thing preventing your dude from running away to launch the nukes is blatant, unashamed, stupidity. In CotEAP, there is NO way back, NO escape, and NO hope of rescue. Just deep hopelessness that people have turned into a theme park, as if to celebrate the fact that you are doomed. 4. Esmerelda Teaches Typing [1P] (https://lbp.me/v/qsxgyv5) - I know I just played this the other night, but it really is incredibly good. 3. A Scaremerican Tale: Phantom Goes West (https://lbp.me/v/hhr0kj) - I liked most of TheClassiestHobo's levels, but this one appealed to my inner child the most. 2. The Bland Platformer (https://lbp.me/v/83zqsz) - As the name suggests, the level is empty and boring. But the platforming is just way too much fun. It's also ridiculously hard at points. It one of the best levels I've ever played, and it seriously has almost NO decor. 1. The Cube (1P) (https://lbp.me/v/cxw5te) - The music for this rocks my socks off, but what really makes me happy is the lighting effects. Plus the level shifts and changes as you play. You pretty much stay in one area that reformats itself into different challenges. Every time I have to play another generic super-fast "Press Grab to Not Die" level, or ultra-detailed "You're all going to love this level just because I said so" level, I always find solace in the fact that The Cube proves people CAN be original, CAN be reasonable, and CAN make good levels. | 2014-08-13 13:13:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
8. SackDroid - Part 1: A Train Crash (https://lbp.me/v/h3qtcq) - Very long, but the humor is great. Also has my #1 favorite LBP villain. (That I did not create, I mean.) That would have been on my list but I have an issue getting passed the jammed elevator bit. ARE YOU KIDDING??? SEALED FATE!! ..... That's my list. It's probably up for debate, but I will stand vehemently behind Sealed Fate as the best level ever made. Also as for Sealed fate that is easily one of the greatest designed levels and would be on the list but I dislike the combat system. | 2014-08-13 17:47:00 Author: Jonarrthan Posts: 310 |
Because I would have a terrible time trying to rank them, here are my top ten favourite levels in no particular order: Wak-Wak Power Plant (https://lbp.me/v/qngren2) is an incredibly well-designed puzzley-platformer that does an excellent job of teaching its core mechanics to the player. The Citadel of Demonic Mechs (https://lbp.me/v/3qncjk) is an incredibly hectic and fun top-down shooter that is just a riot to play with friends. Pause. (https://lbp.me/v/mn3py5) just has a great mechanic and keeps rolling with it. ALL-ROUND DICE (https://lbp.me/v/m5fxhv) is a brilliant level by a brilliant creator who makes levels with excellent flow and mechanics. Pretty much all of this creator's levels are fantastic. Little DIVEKICK (https://lbp.me/v/mfjv0n) is incredibly focused and surprisingly deep multiplayer fun. Artificial Life (https://lbp.me/v/k8zqf5)is just bizarre fun and it's hard not to appreciate the quirky gameplay. Hey Bro... Those Are Some Glorious Wormholes (https://lbp.me/v/h7fvmv) has momentum-conserving wormhole gameplay before those were even an official tool. It's also fun as hell. Finding Solace in Confusion (https://lbp.me/v/8fw181) is my favourite kind of puzzler: one that requires you to think. The Task of Taking Tantalizing Treasure and Things (https://lbp.me/v/075wxe) does what most LBP2 levels fail to do and makes you feel as if you are on an adventure. Rotational Octagon (https://lbp.me/v/6xzwgk)is another really fun puzzle-platformer with such a simple and elegant mechanic. Extra props to Mnniska, Arbiekko (he deleted all of his levels =( ) comphermc, SpacePirateKhan, and Perfect_Pop for making levels I consistently love as well. I don't even want to get started on LBP1. :B | 2014-08-15 00:48:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
