Thermo Spotted?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRzJgzvAUwU In this new trailer for LittleBigPlanet 3, it shows a bit of footage of create mode and the new community layout. It was very exciting when something I didn't expect to see pop up. 48844 This. Thermo. Something that I believe in an interview was stated not to be in this installment. Could this be from PS3 footage? If so, why is it in the PS3 version? I assumed the difference of the 2 versions would be graphic quality. But this sort of made me a bit uneasy. What are your thoughts about it? I figured it could be like the space left on your system or something. | 2014-08-12 21:04:00 Author: TheSonic41125 ![]() Posts: 39 |
Nothing wrong with the thermometer. The thermo merely represents how much space your level uses up. If the thermo wasn't there there would still be a limit as to what you can do, anyway the thermometer is a good way of letting you know when your close to the limit as to what you could add. | 2014-08-12 21:11:00 Author: Shooter0898 ![]() Posts: 996 |

Using the new Dynamic Thermometer functionality (available on both PS3 and PS4), the thermometer now represents only a portion of the level, specifically only the portions of the level that are currently loaded into the game for gameplay. What this means is that you can make your levels much larger and the thermometer now focuses more on the active elements of the level, rather than the entire thing. | 2014-08-12 21:22:00 Author: StevenI ![]() ![]() Posts: 420 |

So I can create an array of ramps and instead of reaching that stupid scoreboard I can leap from ramp to ramp... #dynamicthermo #nolimit | 2014-08-12 21:38:00 Author: BasketSnake ![]() Posts: 2391 |

I was a little uncertain as to what the Dynamic Thermometer was after reading the PS Blog post. It sounds very useful, and almost similar to what I was trying to do to save space. I'd delete objects/logic that wasn't being used, and re-emit them with emitters inside of emitters, which would spawn only when the logic told them it was necessary. Arduous process, but worth it. | 2014-08-13 05:37:00 Author: Ryuhza ![]() Posts: 355 |
only the portions of the level that are currently loaded into the game So from what I do understand is the information provided means that our levels are automatically optimized because the game will only now load a select amount of things that I would guess being near the playable characters? | 2014-08-13 06:01:00 Author: SEWO97 ![]() Posts: 637 |

I'm sure those will still work. I imagine this is similar to how in LBP2 certain areas will lag and get that yellow ! symbol while other areas are lag-free. I assume it's similar to this but with some modifications. I see why there is concern with logic in other parts of the level, but I'm sure they have a workaround that won't break already existing levels. | 2014-08-13 17:48:00 Author: Bladex61 ![]() Posts: 348 |
