Life Bar feedback loop help?
Archive: 11 posts
So I was thinking about changing my life bar system(at least for damaging enemies) and I was trying that feedback loop thing, because according to the tutorials section I should "learn the feedback loop... seriously" but the explanation to me seemed confusing. I watched the videos and what not, so I understand the gist of it. http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/96134d978b7241f56d3f7037ec9f8de50bd78be2.jpg So my problem is, what would I put the feedback loops out put in to, so when its at zero percent it kills the enemy. I tried timers and counters but I couldn't get that to work. The only thing that I got it to work on was a sticker panel set to dimmer. And it goes down by like ten percent each grab. But how would it work in a life bar stand point??? ...also, like always, sorry if this has been asked already. | 2014-08-11 22:11:00 Author: SilverTriforce7 Posts: 183 |
Sequencer; fill up the sequencer with a battery, change it to positional, put + splitter output into sequencer input, and put battery into not gate Presto! (if you didn't know that you should probably learn how to compare percentages) | 2014-08-11 22:21:00 Author: amiel445566 Posts: 664 |
2 things 1. Feedback loops require math logic you need a >0 check 2. This is not realy a full loop your image is a halfloop you need to add as well as subtract subtracting from 0 you still have 0 ill upload some pics in a moment od you can invite my psn name and ill show you | 2014-08-11 22:27:00 Author: JKY Posts: 119 |

Judging from your rpg, this would complement your theme. Although if you want a more complex visualization, I second the sequencer suggestion to help portray the correct visual. | 2014-08-11 22:30:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |
Here, I made this just for you http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/entry.php?11052-Comparing-analogue-values-(FIRST-BLOG-POST) | 2014-08-11 22:50:00 Author: amiel445566 Posts: 664 |

This is how I do it in my RPG for the health, and then I use sequencers for the experience and quest progress bars in the menu Yea its MUCH smoother than the counter and way quicker and can be saved easily. I also use the sequencer for EXP type things. The selector was so tedious when it came to saving. | 2014-08-12 02:09:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |
How familiar with analogue signals are you? Rtm223 did an in-depth blog series on analogue logic: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/entry.php?2069-Analogue-Logic-1-Fundamentals | 2014-08-12 09:54:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
Like Rpg Maker said, with timers you have to set it to 0.1 and speed scale. I believe you also have to use invert output, but don't quote me on that (I'll confirm it when I get home). You could also make health regeneration and death animations, if you want. I've never tried the sequencer approach though, so I can't help you on that. | 2014-08-12 16:31:00 Author: YungDaVinci Posts: 61 |

I mean, it just depends on how you handle your feedback loop. You want the bar to be displaying full for full health, but if you consider full health to be a 0% signal you'd want it inverted. The opposite would be true if you want 100% signal for 100% health. (I use the second way, I find it simpler) | 2014-08-15 05:23:00 Author: Tynz21 Posts: 544 |
