What Platform Should I Pre-Order First?

Archive: 17 posts

As my journey to getting a PS4 continues, I'm having some mixed problems wither to choose the PS3 or PS4 for my Pre-Order. However i only have $130 Dollars in my PS4 Savings.

So should I Pre-Order the game on the PS4 first and do the PS3 later, Should i Pre-Order the game on the PS3 first and not miss out on the fun, or... Should i save up the money for the pre-orders.

Why would you buy the PS4 version, then downgrade to PS3? I think it depends on how likely you are to get a PS4 by the time LBP3 is released. Look at how long it took you to save your money, and make and educated guess in how likely you are to get a PS4. But if your concerned about not getting a PS4, get the PS3 version.

PS4 has more functionality, and better performance, so if you really want the best experience I would save for a PS4, but if full functionality and performance doesnt matter much, buy the PS3 version, cheaper and you can still cross play with PS4 players2014-08-07 19:04:00

and you can still cross play with PS4 players

This is not confirmed. As for the Op, maybe wait and see if a ps4 bundle appears and pre-order that?

If there no Cross-Play i'll play with my PS3 friends instead.

Yeah I think it's a wise decision to wait until we find out about crossplay. That's what I'm going to do. As of right now I'm saving up for both just in case and if there is crossplay after all, then I plan to only get it on PS4. There's still plenty of time to decide which to get.2014-08-07 23:17:00

I have the same problem, should I get the PS3 version sooner or wait longer for the more advanced PS4 version. Hmmmmmm decisions.2014-08-08 11:03:00

Just pre-order the PS3 one, it saves alot of money, besides, buying ps4 means you have to pay $50 a year just for the online. Just get the PS3 version, it'll save alot of money in the long run 2014-08-09 23:58:00

I, too, am wondering this. I'll probably be getting the PS3 version since I have one, as long as there's no major difference between the versions (besides, of course, performance).2014-08-17 18:58:00

But it highly possible, as I've played DC Universe Online with my brother while I was playing on PS4 and he was playing on his PS3.

I may end up getting both. One of them digitally probably so I can get the exclusive shirts.2014-08-17 20:32:00

How long have you been saving for a PS4? Do you expect to have enough money to get one by November 18th?2014-08-17 20:56:00

Well I do hope there is cross play. But either way I would save your money for now and just go with the ps3 version. I would wait till possibly christmas to snag one. Especially if the better performance and visuals don't matter much to you. I don't think there's gonna be any crazy exclusive ps4 features anyway. The experience will be pretty much the same.

Then later on once you get a ps4 you can snag another copy for it if you want. Especially if the price drops in the future. Or maybe there will even be a bundle. The only reason I'm getting it in ps4 is cause my ps3 has no free space (lots of game data utility). So I don't have much of a choice

I would just wait until you can afford the PS4. The game isn't going anywhere and it'll be a great, fresh experience in two ways!2014-08-18 00:36:00

Let's do a little bit of math

So, it's been 72 days from June 21 to August 18 (today). If you have $150 (according to your signature), then you earned approximately $2 every day. You have 106 days until LBP3 comes out. If you keep earning $2 dollars every day, then you'd have $362. And you need $460 for LBP3 + PS4.

So, if you can get extra $100, then you can probably get a PS4 and LBP3 by LBP3's launch.
