How do I rank players in versus levels?

Archive: 9 posts

I was wondering how I would be able to rank players by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, in versus levels. Like in the level I'm making it shows the player costumes on the stand showing what place they got in.2014-08-06 17:58:00

Because score sensors do not support player discrimination as far as I know, you'd have to build a mirror system using feedback loops to count each player's score individually and use those outputs to detect which players score was what.2014-08-06 18:22:00

You could if you have the players sit in controlinators and use sackbots with players costume this is easy. Using actual player score sounds a bit tricky. I know Tynz is right, but I don't know how to actually accomplish it. Ie, where would the individual feedback loops get their inputs so that scores don't get mixed up? I'm going to look into this.2014-08-06 21:52:00

I was thinking of getting in the players in contorllnators, but I seeing if there might be another way.

Sensors can differentiate players (kind of)

Initially all you have to do is take inputs from Player Required 1,2,3, and 4 in a player sensor and lodge that player color into a feedback loop, then you can use that value whenever when adding points

Did you get this to work yet? I couldn't figure it out. The lead players color seems to override the other players. And what if two players have the same color? Using sackbots seems more reliable. I have some tips if you choose to go that route, especially for the ranking players. I used positional pistons with logic that detect each other. The piston that detects no tags is first place, one tag is second, two tags is third and three tags is fourth.2014-08-10 16:15:00

I might have actually used a similar method, but I haven't tested it out yet.
