Hey Guys, I'm kinda in shock in what i just saw.... a While ago I made a level called: Cynthia goes Rotterdam: https://lbp.me/v/7t0znt No big deal, mainly a "joke" for 2 friends of mine who are also lead charaters in the level. (for the people that don't know, Rottedam is a city in the Netherlands) So 1 girl (??) seemed to like my level a lot, and i saw she kept playing it. Yesterday i gave my level an update and she commented on it: Please upload the old version. So i visited her earth and saw a level called Rotterdam as well. When i played the level.... I was in shock.... She rebuild my level from start on, in a hidious kinda way with terrible logic!! No ending, the subway i made, didn't work at hers.. and worse of all... no credits at all... I send her a msg asking what's the deal via PSN, and offcourse, no respons. (or still pending, whatever) Did anyone ever had any encouters like this before?! (i tried search on the net, but didn't found a thing) And how was your respons?? Cheers, Propost

Cheers, Propost She probably appreciates what you made, and attempted to remake it but, not being as adept with building skill, was not able to make it as well as you, you should just take the implied compliment, and try to support her with advice

I'm very sorry to hear about this. I don't intend to sound mean but it appears the majority of the LBP community are, pardon me, incompetent. The person could have at least asked for your permission before trying to plagiarise your content and they really shouldn't have complained over the update. Some of the community folk just lack the decency, you know? u.u Again, very sorry about this. I know what it's like; I commonly make costumes and when people execute the creation of a costume strikingly similar to mine, they often show signs of copying, like over-scaled stickers, misplaced decorations, etc.

There was at least one fan made knockoff of "Outbreak: Twisted Corridors" (which was my first MM pick) that I played. I found it quite amusing and wish more people would try to remake my levels. Id looooove to see a dungeon break clone.

Thanks for the support you guys! In a way I'm flattered by it, and we did msg via psn after my post here on lbpcentral. Communication wasn't really clear, since she is from Russia. She said my level became trash after adding 1 sticker :/ I did something with her critics, and removed the sticker again. I also told her I was kinda flattered with her idea but thought there was a better way to make a level about Gabber/hardcore, without starting from my friends house. Her response was: your level sucks and mine is better. Since she is remaking my level due to the music originally made in Rotterdam (Gabber/hardcore/happy hardcore) I'm making a new level on Rotterdam including the old scene of Gabber and clubs/hotspots they went to back in the days... (She just copied the route between my fiends house and mine) And it'll be a next episode on my previous level. But I got a lill surprise ending planned for it So overall: I guess it wouldn't be surprised if my level got played more. Especially when getting picked, it wouldn't be more then a compliment to me. But I only have 100 plays and saying my level is trash after an update and still remaking my level, kinda got to me. And since I as creator only have like 60 hearts and she got like: 17.500, making a level like that, figured she'd copied other levels in lbp1 for plays as well.. But like said above: that's just the way some sacks of the lbp community like to play. Thanks for the replies and support you guys! Cheers, Propost

And after all that effort you put into it. That's the problem with the LBP community: if you make something original it barely get as any plays unless: 1) It's Mm Picked. 2) It's copied by someone else. It saddens me as it feels that people just don't understand or appreciate the effort that was put into something. u.u Probably a bit rash of me to suggest but, maybe you could put in an Easter egg referencing her plagiarising your level in the original/sequel?

I would have maybe reported it in-game? I think we all need to remember that most of the players are under the age of 11 (a lot of them are younger than 9) and don't really have morals like we do. It's annoying but the only thing you can do is ignore it. Or maybe put [Original] in the title?

I would have maybe reported it in-game? The grief reporting states something along the lines of: "This does include any content you personally dislike", so you can't even report it.

I was thinking bout reporting it at first, but figured there wasn't a bad thing going on to report. Copyright or anything doesn't apply here, she is just rebuilding and that's it. I must say that the support from you guys on this forum does help a lot! Getting the appreciation and understanding from peeps that like to create too, is of much value to me and seemed to have cleared my thoughts a lot! And about the picks/plays: I create for fun and relaxing and I hope to give that same vibe to the people playing my levels. I know my levels won't get picked fast, because the once I play on the community hotspots are so much better. Plus, I don't even put my levels in showcase up here. (Due to iPad vs lbp.me crashing) I think the best should get picked and creating is already a blessing to me. (All though it is secretly every creators wish to get picked ) Thanks for all the support you guys!! Ps: serious creators can always add me on my psn for test plays and help!!

Maybe if it is just innocent and they admire you as a creator and just want to show you how good they are. TBH it should really bother you too much. When I used to play this game back when it first release if there was something I found cool online I would attempt to remake it not publish or use it in levels just to understand creating bettter. An entire level though does seem abit much. Unless they wanted to play it offline which I doubt.
