Cops & Robbers #3!

Archive: 4 posts

I don't know how many of you have played my cops and robbers series, Sunset City and Pacific Island however, I am planning to do big things with it in LBP 3! With the size of the level being determined by the HDD of your console means absolutely huge maps compared to what could be made before. It would be possible to have AI which means more cars to drive around and take out. There would be insane amounts of detail on top of what I already did in Sunset City. Because of 16 layers there could be things like multi story car parks that you could jump of the top of, stuff like that.

My question is what kind of map would people fancy playing? A big city, an out back farm with fields and countryside, an arena with obstacles that disrupt your driving route and ramps that come out the ground, space ship. Anything in particular?

Maybe different types of cars?

Here are the two current levels if anyone fancys playing them:

Any ideas would be awesome!:star::star:

I'd like to see some more interaction with the map environment itself. I have played your levels previously and their very enjoyable and you do manage to incorporate the environment by using ramps. However you could take this further by doing lift bridges certainly possible with 16 layers.

In terms of map creation I would like to see a large rural map with hills and small communities connected by a motorway circling the map. Rivers,hills and cliffs around allowing for a off-road expierence ramps and dips through the lake to make a chase intense.

Also give the robbers and cops more ways to play. The cops could schedule road blocks that are emitted once requested up ahead of the road. Maybe road blockers too that rfise up through the ground forcing the player to take a new route and maybe spike strips too. The robber could have abilities such as Nitro to help them as escape or maybe a we open to combat the pursuers. If you balance this out to make each team fair I think you could have a very enjoyable and competitive expierence.

Anyways those were my ideas.

Thanks dude!

Some of that stuff sounds pretty awesome! It did already have nitrous though, you just had to drive through the gas station or petrol station depending on your ethnic origin

I'll defiantly add some of your ideas though. Cheers!

Be aware that having the 'entire HDD' doesn't mean much for publishing. How much HDD available do I have compared to you?

Am I going to sit there and let your 10GB level load?

It is pretty intriguing that this will be used in conjunction with thermo. But I'm still think that proceeding with caution is the best choice.

I mean... until we see how loading another player's level is done.
