Report Card & Fully Customizable Time Attacks
Archive: 6 posts
If you've played through "Silent Hill - Tribute" then you've seen it's custom report card & reward release based on time attacks. I figured out how to do this and recreated it, offering a demonstration plus a free starter kit on my level (just updated it with a more detailed explanation and advice on hiding the tools). Doing this will allow the players an extra challenge by completing individual sections of the level or the whole level itself within a set amount time. Unlike regular race checkpoints you'll be able to unlock secret areas within the level, prize bubbles, level keys, etc. and reward the player with a custom flashy report card based on time attacks. My level also includes a handful of other useful objects/tools that I designed. These are manual and automatic light dimmers, a device for combination locks/passcodes, manual 4-option selection switch & an adjustable floating timer. More to come! i haven't tried your level, so i don't know if it's answered there, but how much space does it take up (thermo)? | 2009-02-22 00:18:00 Author: RickTheRipper Posts: 345 |
Thanks for the appreciation. For each time attack in your level it uses: 2 Sensor Switches 2 Emitters 3 Blocks (which can be extremely small & compacted. I include some in my level) 2 Magnetic Key Switches 1 Magnetic Key 1 Dissolve Cube For the final grading: 1 Small Glass Cube with 1 Magnetic Key attached 1 Small Grading Mechanism Glass Gravity Box + any other Tools, Lights or whatever you add for your report card effect or prize release/unlockables Which I don't think is much thermo space at all, as long as the emitters are set to Max Emitted: 1 Thanks again, and let me know if you have anymore questions or ideas. | 2009-02-22 19:50:00 Author: Jre Posts: 43 |
