A time tweaker

Archive: 12 posts

So the idea here is that there can be a tweaker that can slow down time, speed up time, or just simply freeze time.2014-08-04 17:02:00

That would be cool. It would be a much better and less laggy alternative to the logic we currently get with sackbots.2014-08-04 18:29:00

It would be even cooler if it had certain allow/neglect things, like, say, any item with a red tag is exempt from the time change, or only items with a blue tag are subject to the time change. Make it able to be toggled (no pun intended) for players, too.2014-08-07 06:08:00

You can already do that in LBP2 from just using logic. I had a project called "Chrono Shift" that can control the flow of time, speed up, slow down, stop and even reverse time itself. Everything I wanted affected by this shift does so accordingly. LBP2's thermo limits wouldn't do that project any justice, which is why I'm saving it for LBP3. It will surely amaze everyone once I publish it.2014-08-07 12:34:00

I may be out of line here, but did you even read the whole thread? I'm sorry if I'm overreacting, I come from a forum where there's rules about reading the whole thread before replying unless it's a megathread. I mean no offense.

Yes, I did read the whole 3 posts before me. All I'm saying is that it can already be achieved through means of logic. And it takes very little logic to do so. I have everything from backgrounds, enemies, bullets, environments, clouds, and even the in-game day/night cycle being affect by the time shift logic.

A tool for it would save you time, but to me, that's just being lazy. Just my opinion.

If by chance the Time Tweaker became a legitimate thing in LBP3, I think a Time Ignore Chip would be incredibly helpful as well.

Basically, that means that any object with the Time Ignore Chip would not be affected by the Time Tweaker.

Though I DID just think of this off the spot, so honestly, I'm not sure if that would work.

It's essentially what Teakettle's first post said. It would actually be very helpful for this. Also in the Time Tweaker, there could be an option for whether the playable characters are affected or not. For Sackbots All they would really need is the tag. Basically default options could be to choose if everything is affected or unaffected and the tags would negate whichever you chose for the default. I'm not sure if what I just said made any sense though...

I don't think it's necessary. Loverice may be incredibly arrogant, but it's true, it's very simple to do with logic in LBP2. It just takes a little analog manipulation and a tag that everything that moves or changes factors into account.2014-08-08 05:21:00

I find that highly offensive Tynz, I am not arrogant. I was not dissing the idea of having a tool to control time, if there is a tool to do so, why not have one. I was just merely saying it's possible to do it with logic. Your lack of reading comprehension amuses me, please think before you speak.

Wow. I wish I had those logical skills.

I thought it would be possible, but I never really tried. I would hope for a new tool that completely makes this easier though. As you just showed, this has a lot of cool uses

Sorry Tynz, but in this case I think Loverice was really nice about the whole thing and just spoke his mind. Possibly the lazy part was a bit uncalled for, but I don't find that arrogant either. Regardless, it isn't really your place to call him out on it. Just use the report button and let us check it out.

Now back to the fun...

Personally, I can see how "time" could be controlled with logic and might like that better than using a tweaker of some sort. ..but to each his own.
