First and foremost; fantastic level.

The gameplay works extremely well for the level, I love me some wall jumps and fiery pit deaths and such. Bubbles placed throughout the level in lines and bunches were used well as a guide for the player. A few secrets here or there (that I knew of) which made me feel like a happy chappy for discovering the depths and going above and beyond in such a creative level. Sometimes it's not exactly clear what to do, but I think that's a great part of the level; a bit of discovery. Not everything's handed to you on a silver platter. I won't say anything about those parts in order to not spoil them, but good job making me actually think about what I'm doing for a change.

The visuals are great. I can't stress that enough. You're the master of negative space and pitch blackness while somehow maintaining the player's interest and dedication to seek the next part of the level. Reddish tints and yellowish glows pretty much envelop the level which is then enveloped in a layer of shades and shadows. Even for the remaining non-dark spaces, the level is practically dynamic and is incredible to look at. This is where I'd normally bring the "are video games art?" altercation into play, but Rober Ebert (God rest his soul) was wrong (http://www.rogerebert.com/rogers-journal/video-games-can-never-be-art). Even by your standards, this is a great level to stare at for hours. And then play.

Sound effects justify each and every action in the level. Continuity can be rare in its aural form, but you've seemed to crack that, too. On top of that, there's a groundbreaking piece by Buddydestruction which, effectively, turns the "heat" most certainly into the "on" position. What else can I say? Sound is pretty much cause-and-effect and you've done it justice, not to mention you've gotten the perfect music for the environment.

Overall, it was a lot of pleasure to play, and it left me with absolutely no criticisms whatsoever. Well done.

I loved it! I really liked the backtracking and the oldschool-like "searching for button x" gameplay (at least in the first level part) but then i got stuck.

I made a screenshot, i would appreciate it, if you could tell me where to go there, cause i would really like to complete the level

and of course, the atmosphere was awesome and not too dark in my opinion. Keep up building stuff like this please

Hey there...

I think this is your image.

There is a doorway middle/right. if you go to it, drop back a layer then move to the left you will drop down to the next section.

Another excellent silhouette level, thespacemonkey187. The use of the lighting are great, and the platforming gameplay is a lot of fun. This level even has excellent use of score givers and music by BuddyDestruction. Awesome stuff.

A yay and heart

Thanks for the comments. This was a fun level to make. I'd had it sitting on my moon, in one form or another, for over a year. Originally I wanted to make a slow paced, dark, horror / suspense level. Inevitably as I created it the level evolved into something else and a lot of those original ideas didn't make it into the final cut. The end result was more of an action level rather than a suspenseful one. I still have those ideas in my head though, so will probably give it another try in LBP3...

I know the gameplay isn't revolutionary, but hopefully it maintains interest as you travel through the two stages. Gameplay is always an area I struggle with. I can fly around create mode for hours and at the end of the day only have a block on a piston to show for my efforts. Lol. They should really make a pin for this!

Hopefully I have managed to make up for the simple gameplay with some interesting visuals and atmosphere.

The only problem is that this level seems to suffer from the dangerous gas glitching out, intermittently. Very annoying! Players have reported that certain traps are not killing the bot as they should. The gas is there and kills me every time I test it.

Has anyone experienced this before? It's a new one on me.

If this happens when you play it I apologise in advance!

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to play this. It is always appreciated!

See you all on LBP3

The only glitch I encountered was near the beginning. You'd just slid down a long wall panel, and then there was a switch in the ceiling too high to jump to. So you have to drag a box over. For some reason the draggable box wasn't there the first time I played. I have no idea how it happened. Maybe it just didn't visually load. On my second try it was right there, and obvious.

Super fun level though. Never too difficult. VERY dark lighting, as is the general idea.

Thanks Kato. This level has been doing some strange things. I haven't heard of the box not loading up before. Glad you had fun while playing. 2014-08-18 19:03:00
