LBP 3 has quests?!

Archive: 22 posts

"LittleBigPlanet 3 is different to previous games in that it's not just a series of levels you complete one after the other," says Hosen. "It's more of an adventure, with areas you will revisit, quests to complete and lots of secrets to discover. Size-wise, it's as big as or maybe bigger than previous LittleBigPlanet games, but of course this is just the beginning."

Interesting indeed, wonder what that means exactly.

Well, the Memorizer might mean you can return to older levels once you get a key, like stickers in old games.

Right? Maybe? I dunno

Perhaps, I almost hope they mean something you couldn't do in lbp 1 with sticker sensors though.2014-07-30 15:55:00

Sounds like it'd be more like a Metroidvania style thing, whereas with sticker sensors it was all wonky and didn't really work all that well.2014-07-30 16:15:00

This would be fantastic! Pretty much like an open world, with quests, secrets, multi-paths, etc.2014-07-30 16:35:00

I thought levels in the later DLC packs for LBP2 were too long and frustrating to ace. They should make the harder levels shorter in 3. OR.....maybe I just suck at playing the game.2014-07-30 20:09:00

Methinks different areas will be accessible as you unlock new characters. Like in some Lego games. Certain areas would not strictly be unlocked but they would require specific abilities to access.2014-07-30 21:20:00

Considering the story modes in LBP games are supposed to give inspiration for player created stuff, I'm imagining it'll be a Metroidvania of some kind in order to try and inspire other people to use the memorizer in cool ways...2014-07-30 21:32:00

That's pretty cool, I can't wait to see how it turns out in the final game =)2014-07-30 23:53:00

Wow, sounds pretty awesome! I think they probably mean you might have to return to certain parts of a level to maybe find what you need to unlock the next level, or something like that. I don't know this is totally awesome sounding. But I wish they would give more information or at least hints!2014-07-31 00:03:00

LBP1 looked quite simple while LBP2 seemed more advanced. It looks like LBP3 is turning out to have a bit of a fantasy-like genre... but I am fine with that change.2014-07-31 09:31:00

Am I the only one who is incredibly cautious of this being implemented in story mode? Revisiting levels has not been done well for about 10 years, and even then there were still crappy implementations of it. Yes it did lead to non-linear gameplay which lead to open-world but it's a step I don't miss.2014-07-31 09:50:00

yeah i think if you unlock the new 3 chars one after another each one gives you new access to areas in the older levels, like the bird being able to fly to areas you can't reach. that maybe is it, mixed with memo stuff similar like the DC DLC.2014-08-01 01:22:00

This seems pretty cool. I'm all for the idea of it as long as there isn't anything too repetitive.2014-08-02 20:04:00

Don't worry I'm bad at acing them I need to just ace 3 more level of the end of the game! But it's really hard a frustrating :S

There's always a nice sense of accomplishment when you do make it though

Sense of accomplishment? Nah, I was just retrying until I got lucky. Relief that the torment was finally over, that's all I felt.

And then there was the Dive In 25...

I am kinda interested to see how this is gonna work! If it is gonna be quest-like in the sense of returning to levels when you have certain item to access certain parts of the level will be kinda cool, i guess! But will it be just one big level-hub thingie where the different parts of it are linked using that new linking thing and the memorizer? That is what I am wondering!2014-08-07 17:21:00

'Size-wise, it’s as big as or maybe bigger than previous LittleBigPlanet games'

Does this mean we'll FINALLY get 8+ worlds/sections again like LBP1? LBP Vita was kind of lacking in size, and LBPK had 7 worlds with very little content in them. I want a nice meaty campaign that I'll keep coming back to... WITH SKIPPABLE CUTSCENES

I just hope these are less tedious then playing the "dodge the hazards" game for an hour per level trying to ace

(maybe more puzzle or timing oriented?)

This concept sounds pretty interesting; would this mean the player would be able to choose alternative routes? Kind of reminds me of Sonic Generations where you can choose different paths or platforms to go different ways, lol.2014-08-09 09:06:00
