Amusing/weird comments on your levels...

Archive: 148 posts

The funniest comment I have received so far has to be:

"My mum loves you" on my Wizard of Odd level.

Also on the same level where I changed the placename from Kansas to Wexford (look at name if it not obvious enough already) I got:

"Um... don't you know it's Kansas and not Wexford"

Anyone else have any weird or funny comments left on their level?

lmao @ my mum loves you

The only one I can think of that made me laugh was on my Automatic Paintball Rifle Demo... the one that showed you could capture and emit paintballs for whatever.

"then how do u get trophy if not here"

It fires like a 100 paintballs in a few seconds, but sadly, doesn't count

On the ship one, False Idols 0 where the objective is to die, I had someone comment with...

"lol is this a survival game"

I think the best comment that I've ever gotten on a level was :
"You are good to make home" on the fall of winter.

The best picture I ever got on a level was on Centralia. It was just a picture of the assassins creed game box. :O

I don't know whether it's funny, but it IS weird. A japanese player left a comment on my level... all written in Japanese.

I've started learning Japanese afterwards, but I still don't know what it says.

I don't get many stupid or random comments on my levels. Most of the comments on my levels are h4h comments (probably like most other people to) But recently on my new planet sorter minigame I've got a comment that just says "migion" and on my paintinator turret level I've got a comment that says "accidenti".2009-02-20 19:24:00

I also had a kid leave a detailed description (spanning 3 comments) about how he loved my level but how there were 60 thousand things wrong with it. He proceeded to take pictures and upload them to my level, so most of the pictures on my level were flaws and mistakes. That made me feel REALLY good about myself 2009-02-20 19:26:00

The funniest pic I got was the two guys who got stuck in SEMINAL GEMINI 'cause some sponge block got flipped upside down and couldn't be pulled out of the hole - so they took a picture of themselves standing by it, one trying to yank it out and the other guy making a super angry face about it. I was like "why did they take a picture up there?" and then I read in the thread what happened and laughed about it.

I got one in spanish one time, which was cool... I translated it, and it was "the new standard has been published" which is probably the best comment I've gotten. I responded to it using my poor linguistic skills, and tried my best to say thanks and something else. I forget. I like that LBP is so global.... best venue ever.

i get french comments a lot, for some reason. I also get a lot of "H4H" and PLAY MY LEVEL PLEASE...

I also get a few that are play.my.crystal.mine.level.heart.lizards.kittens.f roglips .... well, not exactly that, but they put dots between them. Centralia's had a bunch of those.

OH! The best comment we ever got on centralia (my husband just reminded me of this)
"Hey there are kids on here I am one"

...

yeah.

My second level was once described as being, 'horribly ***'. Dunno what he was trying to suggest but his levels were terrible so I wasn`t taking it to heart

Also on mu pirate levels I get a lot of comments in 'pirate speak' which makes me smile everytime.

Oh, I got "needs work" on "What's the Matter?" ... I checked out the guy's level who left it. It was a giant rocket car with all sorts of unnecessary stuff glued to it, 5,000 beach balls for some reason, and no exit gate. Also, it was just the blank level with no background. Then I cried myself to sleep. 2009-02-21 18:19:00

On my only level, someone didn't like it because of the fact that it's hard, even though I had a tag in the title of my level stating that it was difficult. Talk about ignorance. Anyways, I had to republish my level because of his ignorance, since he did give it one star, dismotivating anyone else from coming in, which was expected.2009-02-24 01:02:00

Hehe, I've had a fun picture too, I think it's still up. It's in the Spike Stone of Doom. At the treasure room with the spikes. When playing with two players, the second player can get stuck in the room, but the spikes won't kill him, you'll have to run in yourself.

Two guys got stuck this way, they then proceeded to decorate the entire scene with skulls, crosses made from plumbing pipes, writing R.I.P. in large letters, dressing up as skeletons. They made a picture and published it, that amused me to no end .

I've had a lot of comments too, but hardly anything truly humorus.

i do like taking pictures and uploading them. all the more fun when you put tiger stripes, pink flowers and rainbows in them when it's supposed to be a more serious level. i did wonder at first if people might get upset at the silly pics but then thought that's just part of the lbp fun.2009-02-24 13:17:00

Thats a great one

I got one recently on my matrix level...

"you stole this from looloo23"

After a quick search I found looloo23 had published my level 4 weeks ago and had 13 plays on it.

I must have been one of those 13, copied it, built a time machine went back 4 months and published it. Looloo should be happy I got his level 133,000 plays!

Had one that made me really laugh on Splat Invaders II - One guy leaves a comment "The final boss is impossible!". Next comment: "You just have to use your brain". I think the reply was from our member Olit123. Nice going, man!2009-03-05 13:54:00

In the comments section of my first attempt at level building, Electronomicon (beta), someone wrote 'Bleeaaaah'. Naturally I tried their effort - wanting to see what kind of benchmark I'd fallen so tragically short of. It was an entrance glued to a scoreboard. Nice.2009-03-05 14:57:00

Some lad posted 3 comments in succession on my NosePick level!! Probably the funniest thing I've ever read.

I got something like: "You're not too good with the ladies, but cool level"

Then "Oh and how did you make it in Black and White"

Followed by "Play and heart my level"

I posted after seeing this "You obviously haven't played my "get all the ladies" level, you amature..."

Honestly.... he has some high expectations.

Ok, here's one:

On Splat Invaders Saga, got a comment (all upper case) "HOW DID YOU MAKE YOUR STUFF FLY AROUND WITHOUT VISIBLE PISTONS?? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! PLEASE TELL ME".

So, I ignored it. Couple days later, same guy "YOU STILL HAVEN'T TOLD ME HOW YOU DO IT. PLEASE TELL ME"

So, I add a comment "You can visit LBPCentral.com. A lot of these techniques are posted there."

So I get a PSN message about an hour later that says, "WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO TO A STUPID WEBSITE JUST TO GET ANSWERS TO THIS? WHY CAN'T YOU JUST TELL ME? I BROUGHT ABOUT 12 PEOPLE INTO YOUR GAME, AND I DESERVE FOR YOU TO AT LEAST HAVE THE COURTESY OF TELLING ME HOW YOU DID IT."

So I gave him an answer, hoping he would go away.

Then he played Splat II..... so far I have received about 50 PSN messages from him asking me how to do virtually every little technique in my levels, as well as technical information on operating his PS3.....

If you go out to my Splat Invaders Saga level and look down the comments list, the comments are still there. His PSN is "AaronParker".

I've got an idea.... why don't we get a group together and start PSN messaging HIM all day long with questions on HIS level?

(and make sure there are enough misspellings so that it's incredibly difficult to tell what you're typing.... just like him!)

Normally I'd say yes, but based on his messages I felt the guy could be a lunatic, so I felt it best just to give him what he wanted and let it die.

It's been about a week since the last incident, so I figure it's over now.

Absolutely.... my only problem now is deleting all the messages out of my PSN message list. Selecting every single message, clicking the triangle, scrolling down to delete, and X.... takes forever when someone has sent you so many messages. And I THINK 50 is an incredible understatement. If I start from the top of the message list and let it scroll down, it take about 10 seconds to reach the bottom.2009-03-05 16:44:00

You know, one thing with people like that - they think you OWE them something. Someone with the mentality that you should give THEM something for having fun in your level is obviously not playing with a full deck. All I need is for him to come to this website, find me, and start wreaking havoc over here. Or decide to get a bunch of buddies together and 1 star my hard work.

At the time it wasn't so funny, but now it's a great story.

My friend patrick (VMethos) got a pretty good series of comments on The Seal of Silvraen, Shadows of an Ancient Era a little while back.

the one said something like "I can't complete the puzzle at the end, please change it so I can"

The one after it said something like "Don't change a thing! It's so rewarding to work the final puzzle out" ...

Speaking of 1-starring good work...

I'm starting to think that rating a level only works once now. I did an experiment the other day where I newly published a level, then hopped on my alt accounts to rate it.

A few (3-4 max) people had already rated it averaging 3-stars. Through two of my alt accounts I rated it 5 stars, which brought the rating up to 4. Through another combined 10-20 plays rating it 5 stars, I wasn't able to budge it higher than 4, despite that the weighted average should have been well above 4.5 by this point.

If so, this is a good thing, because that means griefers can't 1-star your level 100 times to destroy its rating. I think either the first rating, or the most recent rating is the only one that counts from a particular PSN account. It might be good to experimentally test this though to be sure.

You know i've played quite a few levels and a few of them I thought were pretty cool till I played a bunch of other levels and realized it was just a collection of others peoples cools stuff. So maybe his level is just a collection of cool stuff + a few things people have politely told him about

It's certainly possible, however I play a LOT of levels and his art looked pretty unique.... when I asked him if he was steeling other peoples ideas, he said (in hard to read form...) "Give me some credit! I'm an artist! I'm a professional tatoo artist."

So, I figure he's a tatoo artist with an attitude who also may not be very educated.

wex is always on top of things... BUT TELL ME HOW YOU PUTPPL ON TEH SKORBOARD?!?!?!

Maybe the guy just really admires your work and thinks you're a technical genius at LBP... your levels were probably the first really amazing levels he played, or he sees something in them that other levels just don't have. I have a friend who really compliments me like I'm some kind of a genius because of how deep, poetic, and introspective the False Idols series is... but he's not all single white female about it, he's just a cool guy and has similar interests in what kind of art style, writing, and content he likes. Aspires for the same kind of creations too.

lol, I get a kid who tries to join me when I'm busy testing or doing something, and he'll try to join over and over for 20 minutes. Usually will send me 5 or 6 PM's crying about not letting him join. He always wears the chinese dragon costume and looks exactly like the sackboy on the workshop forums home page.

I was playing nattura's anubis level with a friend the other day, and i had a similar situation (a person trying to join every two seconds) ... This person was on my friend's buddy list, and she actually ended up having to unfriend and block this person to get her to stop. The join requests were coming every one or two seconds, to the point where I couldn't see the level. I kept falling into pits and dying because of the join requests. 2009-03-06 17:42:00

I love this thread, lol. Especially CCubbages stori buT HOW DI DYOU MAEK GUNN TAHT SHOTS PAYNT???????

I haven't had too many comments other than "h4h" or "i heartd u heart me back", only for me to go into the guys level list to see all 20 slots filled with the same exact copy of some crappy trophy level he made. I wish there was a "Decimate" button next to authors names sometimes, because some people just don't deserve to play this game, no matter the 60 bucks they put down on it.

My favorite comment though is one on my Gadgetronia level, which was just an algamation of my personality told through the medium of a crappy LBP Beta level. My friend played it a few months back and randomly commented on it, "I love you."

Made me giggle like the little tramp I am.

CC, you don't have to delete each message individually. after you click "message box", press triangle on "received" (or "sent"), then click "delete". this will delete all messages that you have in your in-box (or out-box if you clicked "sent"). if you don't want certain messages to get deleted, press triangle on those messages and click "protect" (they can't be deleted until you remove the protection).

I wonder if people know im kidding =p

I get a lot of "I'm naming my first born son after you" or "I'm writing a whole chapter on this level in the book I'm writing about your life".

Really, I'm not kidding.

I just remembered someone hearted all my "entry" levels for Boss Rush 2 and put a H4H comment there. That's more than a bit strange since none of those are full levels, you start off floating on a Dark Matter platform and there's no scoreboard anywhere.

Plus I don't think anyone will want to be hearting Dodeca MkI considering how difficult it is.

one practically went on praising how my level plays (Metal Gear Karas) and he enjoyed every single part of it especially the boss fight.. but then he mentioned that my Metal Gear didnt quite fit the level..

i couldnt understand why because he was the only one whose ever said that out of its 900+ plays (and its also the only comment ive ever deleted, i was sad... as the creator, i feel that my Karas is the heart of my level and it truly is. 99% loved the boss.

i ended up deleting the level tho, since 1/3 of its plays were from its beta tests... and it was very challenging for everybody who tried to finish it. (possibly only 2 out of ten people actually gets to see the end) the Tags came from Brilliant/Complex and Frustrating to Complex/Frustrating and Tricky i was like man why would anyone play my level if what they'd see is Frustrating/Tricky with Complex aside?

so now ive lost all my level hearts. but thats fine. ive tweaked everything even further to make it just a cake walk. also now ive also published BOSS RUSH Mode so if by any chance a noob platformer ever fails my level again, BOSS RUSH is available.

A perfect comment about one of my level (Color of sound): "Didn't like the level at all, hearted, 5 stars, hearted you"... Of course, the comment was finishing by "take a look to my levels, you might don't like them too!"...

I found this funny

Ok I can top my post from yesterday. Same level, Asteroid! Pinball.

"Just to hard"

Not only is this funny because he spelled "to" wrong (should have been "too"), but it's PINBALL. There's no difficulty implied because it's a survival challenge and your competition is other players' highscores. You can't technically LOSE.

You know... I've had just about enough of not listening to players! Look - if the guy says it's "to hard" than obviously it's "to hard"!!!!

So, I say you make him a special version. If you will, a "cry baby" version that makes him feel good while he's playing.

When the ball falls down through the bottom hole, have a nice big cheering sound and pop it back into play. Then, send a PSN message to the guy that says "There ya go, buckaroo! All better now?"

Lol! I'll make him a pinball level that consists of a ramp, and 1,000,000 points worth of prize bubbles that roll down it into you. There won't be any flippers or ball either, because that's probably just to hard.

Yesterday, someone left a weird comment on my level "Left Behind Part.1". I don't remember exactly, but it's something like :

"great level. But stop with the fowl language in your future levels or i'll report your level(s) to MM"

I wrote a personal message to him to know what he consider "fowl language", but still no response... I don't think there's anything offensive in this level!

Someone else left a comment later. Again, I don't remember exactly, but it's something like that : "Fowl language? U have some balls to theatens him like that. Play the level again idiot, there's no fowl language."

Funny stuff! I'm still waiting for the response to my message...

Some really desperate guy, quite confident of his level's difficulty said:

Played it as he made me laugh with that, and ended up having the highest score by about 9k points , poorly made level with weird story.
Then it got moderated a while later as the level was "anti-christian"...

I've had some GREAT experiences with Tiger Woods Mini Golf. In fact, so much so it's kind of scary. I've been getting a constant influx of almost-all-non-h4h great comments (there's a FEW in there).

What's the scary thing? It's golf. GOLF! Now, I'll admit it... I made the level, and I think it's a good game. But I'm getting comments like "This is the best level I've ever played"....... Dude, it's GOLF! You grab grass, a ball shoots through the air and lands on something.... then you do it again. Fun? Sure. But best level ever?????

I'm sure Donkey Show would be highly irritated to know he didn't need to draw the water serpent. Jaeyden didn't need to design the amazing beginning to the Abyss! Shoot, I didn't need to spend all those hours designing the Splat Invaders levels. All we REALLY needed to do is draw a bobble head of Tiger Woods and stick him on some grass.

But then again.... I like the attention... XD

Dude, the best part about your level is the fact that you do have a Boss. As all of us golfers know, if there were Bosses in golf...then Tiger Woods would be the one to send at them. (You think it's brilliant because I used your tire-rolling-on-the-ship idea)

Obviously I was kidding - I love people playing my levels XD.

But it definately shows the psychology. I love my mini golf level.... but I probably spent 50+ hours on each of my Splat Invaders levels (and even longer on Jacques the Acadian Warlord taking into account the conveyor system). But my Tiger Woods Mini Golf is on page 2 of cool levels and racking up tons of great plays and comments.

It's kind of like my wife spending many hours cooking a great dinner, and my son telling her he'd rather have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. She probably knew that to begin with.... but it still hurts a little.

Man, that was the best post ever!!1!

Thanks! I worked hard on that one. I figured it would be funny if I said it about my own level.. not so much if I picked on someone elses!
