Not long ago, Media Molecule has changed up their history page (http://www.mediamolecule.com/about/history#startoftheuniverseasweknowit) within their old website. With it, two unlisted videos appeared, one contains a lovely video on the birth of Sackboy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LLHCrIx6ZY and the other, the dashing Mr. Yellow Head! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JNHWCzuxbc | 2014-07-30 06:19:00 Author: Spazz Posts: 484 |
What I really love about that first video, is seeing how the fabric used to move from being pulled or pushed. Want that back in the game. #LBP3wishes. | 2014-07-30 15:13:00 Author: Vex_Doppel Posts: 108 |
The first video reminds me of the GDC 2007 LBP presentation at one part... | 2014-07-30 15:17:00 Author: Smuffy04 Posts: 606 |
What I really love about that first video, is seeing how the fabric used to move from being pulled or pushed. Want that back in the game. #LBP3wishes. I'm glad those head physics are gone though. Sackboy's head in the video is kinda creeping me out. | 2014-07-30 17:21:00 Author: Jovuto Posts: 2345 |

I'm glad those head physics are gone though. Sackboy's head in the video is kinda creeping me out. Yeahh... Looks kinda of, um, bobbleheadish? | 2014-07-30 19:51:00 Author: The5rozos Posts: 952 |
All this stuff makes me too nostalgic! it's a bit like flipping through a photo album of when you were a child And in the midst of all the photos, there are some embarrassing, bath time or the first time on the potty  in this case, yes, the creepy bouncy movement of the head, or the disarming strength of yellow head, he can also climb vertical walls In any case thanks for these goodies Mm | 2014-07-30 20:46:00 Author: Art-in-Heart Posts: 43 |
This reminds me I need to get Yellowhead again! I had him in LBP1 but when my ps3 decided to ylod I lost my 100% all levels. Dang! I need to get on that | 2014-07-30 20:51:00 Author: mattman111 Posts: 188 |

Early Concept Sackboy has a solid place in uncanny valley. | 2014-07-30 23:24:00 Author: wally-217 Posts: 521 |
The birth of a legend! Cool! | 2014-07-31 17:23:00 Author: Knucklerider Posts: 72 |
It's weird to imagine that Sackboy almost had those correct body proportions. He just doesn't look right. | 2014-07-31 17:45:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |
There is a feeling of imaginative whimsy that I get from that Yellowhead concept video that really takes me back to what made LBP1 such a deeply joyful experience in the first place. At its heart, It was the strong sense of being a young child at play, with a healthy amount of making stuff up and no real concern for coherency. We would eventually be frolicking in a delightful world of wind up toys and cardboard castles, but the liberating absurdity of it all can already be felt in Yellowhead swinging among the strung up paper stars. | 2014-08-01 15:05:00 Author: LittleBigDave Posts: 324 |
Makes me more conviced that LBP uses multi layerd Box2D for physics | 2014-08-04 14:13:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
The thing about getting so used to Sackboy as he is now means that looking back on his early animations is just plain disturbing. | 2014-11-07 17:12:00 Author: The11thWheatley Posts: 230 |
