1st published level! (Through the Inferno)

Hey everyone!

Presenting my first published level! Just a simple(-ish) platformer with a few puzzles. Any feedback would be awesome and much appreciated. Will try to post pictures as soon as I have the time/figure it out! Hope you guys enjoy it!

A warphole has sent you to the utopian city of Ever-Bright. Run by the Warp Shaft conglomerate, its people are no strangers to... well, strangers. Forbidding Gehenna Nova awaits those that wish to return home - yet there is more to fear than just the fire and brimstone...

Great job! Even if this wasn't your first level I would be impressed. My first level was turrible. You have a great boss fight at the end with excellent platforming before that. Some areas seem a little rough around the edges, but I am super impressed. A job well done 2014-07-30 07:02:00

Nice first level!

There are a few sections where the way forward becomes a little convoluted though. Like where you have to hum into the spinning object and use the bounce pad to hit the switch.

I like the idea here, it becomes a central point that changes a few times, but it seems a bit cramped, and I sort of felt like I was doing what needed to be done, but it was not flowing properly.

Like I was not playing a platformer, but more like I was using exploits to sort of wiggle through the section.

Also, I am sure you would have been having some thermo issues with all those extra edges on everything. You could clean up a few of those sections and they would still look pretty decent, but be much more thermo friendly.		2014-08-02 02:57:00

I agree with you about the spinning wheel. It does feel VERY cramped. Problem was I only realized it after finishing that whole segment. I felt it would have been too much trouble to change everything.

And really, really perceptive on your part! I wasn't originally planning on using the bounce pads to hit the switch, but rather something above the bounce pads (in the same layer). I only realized the "glitch" when I played through the section. I kinda liked it, so I kept it, but I understand that that part in particular can be particularly buggy. My bad.

And thanks for the tip re: edges! Unfortunately for me, I only discovered the magical item that is the corner editor a bit too late to make much use of it here.
