Memorizer Improvements

Archive: 13 posts

The memorizer was a tool that many wondered how it took so long to be implemented when it finally came out on vita. So many possibilities opened up, but so many were left closed. As it is now, the memorizer can still be improved.
1. Save everybody's data. Right now it only saves to host.
2. Input naming? I suck at counting and remembering which number I was supposed to plug it into.
3. Who knows, maybe even a saved state? You know, pickup EXACTLY where you left off? Seems like a nice idea. Not necessary but nice.
4. Make it easier. I don't know about you guys but i find the memorizer a tad bit confusing with complicated tasks. It's not very visual. Perhaps make the memorizer more of a microchip that saves the status of all the logic inside for the next level or a replay. This basically removes the memorizer step by removing the thinking for processing the data that comes out of it.

What do you guys think?

I think its very complex and needs to be simplified, only piece of logic idk how to properly use 2014-07-29 16:07:00

1. Well, the fact that it only saves to host kinda helps. What if Player 2 was only up to level 2, and he joins Player 1 while hes up to level 10 and completes it? That would make Player 2 able to skip to level 11 in his level selection menu.(just an example)
2. Not really a problem but I guess they could add it.
3. You can already save exactly where you left off using complex logic.
4. Yes, I say the memorizer is the most complex logic piece I have dealt with.

You already posted that..

I don't find the memorizer that hard to understand. The only issue I do have is that I placed in in my level and it freezes my game whenever I go near it, possibly because I'm emitting it?

Hmm, I never tried emitting a memorizer before so I wouldn't know, possibly a new bug found?

Perhaps being able to specify which player it saves to would help this? In a level like that, it wouldn't be particularly helpful to save with different people but in multiplayer levels, it is crucial if someone besides the host wants to play again.

Ah, so the memorizer just needs a new option, such "Save Data to All Players?" then you switch it to "Yes" or "No" by the checkmark or x.

Or save data to player 1, player 2, player 3, player 4 and all players2014-07-29 21:54:00

Precisely if we could just save all data inside a microchip as cloud storage it would make creating with it so much easier. Then the data inside the memorizer chip could be unique to each player that uses it being the 1st or the 4th player.

The tutorial is pretty hopeless too. last time I tried it didn't work, which is pretty bad given its a tutorial. I also recall no mention of the memorizer being able to save data as cloud data to be used in different levels throughout the tutorials, which to me was the biggest thing about the tool altogether.

Plus, we'd be able to have more then 50 outputs2014-07-29 22:33:00

Yes,I agree. It should be like this [in a perfect world]:

The Memorizer is a colored microchip. Every bit of logic placed on the board is saved exactly as it was when "Save" is triggered. The board is colored depending on which setting its on (player 1,2,3,4,all) And you just use it that way,and all wires running off the right of it become outputs next time its placed.

Sound good?
