Custom Textures!

Archive: 7 posts

Something that I think should be implemented in LBP3 is the ability to import photos from the HDD and use them to make your own stickers or material texture. Also I'd love to have the ability to draw the edges of a sticker so it could be any shape we want it to be.
Thoughts?

Well, image importing from the HDD was a planned feature back in 2008, but sadly it never came due to the number of bad things a user can do using it...2014-07-28 23:17:00

I thought that was the reason but it doesn't make a lot of sense since there is webcam compatibility.2014-07-28 23:33:00

I mean you could just try to do the same thing but with ingame stickers, some people can get creative with gradients, decorations, and such to make their own looking textures ingame, and if a material was developed to be able to transfer using UV mapping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UV_mapping) it would be lower thermo, and all that would need to be sustained would be either a live link of a sticker, or an inputted sticker, much like a material2014-07-28 23:49:00

Wouldn't this boost the thermo quite a lot?2014-07-29 08:50:00

All it would take is the thermo of a sticker, material physics, and possibly some 3D texturing if they were to add 3D editing on textures which would be the equivalent to most materials
