Beta - The Vintage Attic IV
Archive: 7 posts
Hey there! It's been a a while since I have posted anything in this section of LBPCentral, but here I am, back with yet another Beta for you guys. I have been working a long time on several Vintage Attic levels, just to polish them and think what would be best to continue with and what the plot should be. I now have a completed level, which i started on 10 months ago, and I built it in about 1-2 months. I was not very satisfied with the level in the beginning as I just started creating very suddenly. But I think its's worth a shot now. The following are in-game screenshots of the level: http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/3cfacbb4978ed955dda4dda9b0ce12864c74c4b6.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/719d8e6fe85a64118b875dcae03daa42bb922fa4.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/78950f40a78d2cd80cbcafd856793ad69924b599.jpg http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/b8e51998e45a065759be57e9831c249e3247590b.jpg http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/03e4c1de8b20aef645d311d7dc8f718f333a0733.jpg - - - If you want to be a part of the Beta for this level, please use the following code and enter it in this Beta Order Lockbox: http://littlesigplanet.com/v/cy078z/sites_lbpc/full/sig.png (https://lbp.me/v/cy078z) Code: 6409 Then you will get access to this level, which is the level I am currently setting in Beta-Mode: http://littlesigplanet.com/v/qsq7fep/sites_lbpc/full/sig.png (https://lbp.me/v/qsq7fep) Please report any bugs you find in this forum or send me a PM here on Central or tweet to me on Twitter: @Jauw2 (https://twitter.com/Jauw2) Please post a comment if you think I have missed something in the level, or if it was confusing or if a section do not fit. I can only help if you provide me with some decent description of the bug Thank you for reading, and thanks for beta-testing my level (in advance). -- Jauw | 2014-07-28 18:58:00 Author: Jauw Posts: 484 |
Epic! Also, that third picture reminds me of Lightmare's freezer burn levels! -hyper | 2014-07-28 19:22:00 Author: hyperdude95 Posts: 1793 |
Thanks hyper! Yea hopefully it doesn't remind you too much of his level, there's certainly a lot more of that freezer | 2014-07-28 19:24:00 Author: Jauw Posts: 484 |
Looks good judging by the pictures, I'll beta test it the next time I get on. | 2014-07-28 19:56:00 Author: Smuffy04 Posts: 606 |
Wow! It look as great as always! I think I still have the previous part lost in my Queue, but I'll make sure to play through the whole series again and Beta test with feedback here! http://i.imgur.com/bjKCAej.png EDIT: (Feedback) First, great level continuing the whole story! I only found a few things that could either be troublesome/difficult or level-breaking, but I'd also like to include a tip or two. The list starts off below: 1) In the beginning, the bouncepads that you must get to by spinning off a wheel seem to be a bit to far to the right. This isn't too big an issue, but it can take a couple of tries if the player is unable to time the jump. Moving it just a bit closer or fixing the camera angle could fix this. 2) When you come to the point where you need to get the grabinators it is easy to skip them and move on which means that you can get to a point in the level where you can't go back to collect them and solve the puzzle needed to progress. Fix by adding another grabinator(s) or blocking the players path until they have obtained access to the grabinator. 3) Knowing what items and where you needed to move them could be an issue. I would say that adding some ambient lighting or much more obvious signs (i.e. arrows, flashing lights, etc) around the key items needed to progress could aid in the flow of the level. 4) [TIP] The lighting at the beginning does not do this level justice! It seems lackluster although the transition is excellent. I hope, however, that you decide to change the lighting slightly. That's mainly everything I can remember, but so far it seems that you'll have another great level to continue the series and I hope to play it when you've included more story as well! Tell me if you need any specific pictures! Also, sorry if you are already working on some of the above tips! I do realize that it is only a beta! | 2014-07-29 02:55:00 Author: Bryan_Zuckerberg Posts: 874 |

Hi Bryan, thanks a lot for all the great feedback, I am working on some of the bugs you mentioned but I really appreciate the ideas and tweaks you think should be implemented. I will definitely fix some of the bugs and add some more indicators. Once again, thanks! -- Jauw | 2014-08-09 10:02:00 Author: Jauw Posts: 484 |
