not much for exclusives really unfortunately but i love call of duty world at war.....i just also ordered elder scrolls oblivion and burn out paradise.

i know oblivion is a phenomenal game its cheap and with the game of the year addition you get the expansions and probably at least like 500 hours of game play.

and burnout paradise is a sweet driving game where you do a lot of crazy crashing and what not...

also i have fallout 3 thats a great game (similar to oblivion in play style but thats it) I've always been a huge fan of the fallout series this one doesnt have the exact feel of the old ones but it delivers.

force unleashed was pretty fun but i really regret buying it ( i love star wars)

You're kidding?
Just from the top of my head come some amazing games;
Metal Gear Solid 4
Resistance 1 and 2
Killzone 2 (well, soon anyways)

Other good games.....
Fifa 09 is pretty good, gran turismo 5 is supposedly really good.

Ummm...yeah, all I can think of for now

ya metal gear i guess even though i havnt played it yet..

resistance seemed alrgiht but nothing special even though i didnt really give it a shot.

but i love call of duty.

and killzone 2 has yet to win me over... i didnt think the first one was very good. at least not my style...it was more like a halo rip off except worse were you have to shoot the guy like 10 times in the head to kill him as opposed to a game like call of duty where one shot does it.

Motorstorm 2. Even if you're not into racing games (like me) you'll still enjoy it.
Fallout 3. So addictive. Fantastic game.

Mirrors Edge has lots of fun gameplay. Call of Duty 4 or World at War are good too. Metal Gear Solid 4 is quite replayable aswell.

Oh, and Burnout Paradise but I stopped playing when they put in the evil trophy update that didn't give you the trophies if you had already earned them.

@Hamsalad; maybe you should try the demo? It's about 2-3 shots to the head, 1-2 to take the helmet out, and 1 shot to kill.

As for games I would recommend.

Littlebigplanet - You're getting it.
Burnout Paradise - Lots of gameplay, it'll take you a while to get 100% completion ( challenges, cars, all that good stuff )
Call of Duty WaW - With the DLC coming up, Nazi Zombie will be even better.
Killzone 2 - Looks amazing, gameplay looks fun, and everything about it is a good example of the power of PS3.

ya i'm sure it will still be fun, i should get the demo your right whaaale...idk there is just something about COD's realisim that i love. It made me angry i remember playing killzone 1 with how the characters and everything looked realistic but the game play was very unrealistic.

i heard about the new nazi zombie map coming will it update the current one as well?

i hope they keep expanding on it after they see how popular it is (im sure they will considering they are revamping it a little and coming out w/ a new map)

I'm pretty sure the DLC won't just be the nazi map, I think it's about 4 other maps as well, and I don't think they're free.2009-02-19 23:55:00

Maybe they'll make a new version of the game with them in, like the CoD4 game of the year edition.

Ugh... no offense intended... but people really need to get over this whole Halo vs Killzone comparison thing already. First of all, neither GG nor Sony EVER said Killzone would be a "Halo Killer"... that was a bunch of BS rhetoric spewed from the mouths of fanboys (and we all know fanboys are useless people anyways). As for your suggestion that Killzone was a rip off of halo... that's completely ridiculous. They don't look alike. They don't play the same. They don't even remotely compare. I've played the hell out of both games, and can say with clarity of mind that the two games have absolutely nothing in common with the exception of being FPS's. I could easily say that Halo is a rip off of Doom or any one of the very first FPS's out there, but that would be just as ridiculous. Sorry, but I'm so sick of people perpetuating this poppycock myth between two very different games.

On a high note... I do recommend you at least rent KZ2 before basing it on the franchises history. If you were frustrated with the bullet-to-kill ratio in the first game, you can rest easily knowing that this is no longer the case with KZ2. It's much closer to something like COD in regards to the realism of bullet damage. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised... no actually... completely blown away with the game play and graphics. I'm a huge fan of COD4 and KZ2 puts it to shame.

Give it a chance... I think you'll be glad you did.

Cheers

i didnt mean it was exactly the same as halo nor did i call i the halo killer but i know what you've mean i've heard people say that. I mean game play wise it was similar to halo w/ the play style. (but your typical FPS right? not really i guess cause COD changed it up a bit w/ the perk leveling up system and kill streak reward + 1 shot kill to the head)

i guess i just meant the play style and kill to bullet ratio was similar as in halo one head shot didn't kill them. But i know the game was not exactly like halo but it wasn't that different from it aside from not having vehicles and having different characters (marines and helghast or w/e it was and different guns) just saying there wasnt a lot that set it apart or made it better than halo. but i'm sure i'll get the demo; i just felt disappointed by the first one.

saying it blows COD out of the water sets some high expectations for it. I love COD's leveling up / perk system and kill streak rewards...adds a new element to the typical FPS

Hmm, I'll address the PS3 Exclusives an my take on them.

Buzz
This game is a riot provided you got friends to play it with. Can be expensive with the custom controllers, but if you enjoy trivia and group play, this is a must have.

God of War III
Granted, the release date is still way off and so I can't say I've given it a try, but this game is just definitely going to be epic. Kratos r00lz.

Haze
Over hyped piece of garbage, avoid at all cost. Seriously, this game is rubbish.

Heavenly Sword
This game is short, but fair. The combat is rather confusing, often resulting in random buttonmashing. The story is simple enough, no massive plot twists or anything. The cutscenes are beautiful, the characters are quirky and fun, sometimes too exaggerated, but whatever.

Heavy Rain
Not released either, but I think its a title to keep your eye on. Very intriguing.

Killzone 2
Not out yet, but could be good. I'm keeping my expectations low at this point to avoid massive disappointment.

Lair
Ain't played it, don't care too.

LittleBigPlanet
Teh Awesomes.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Okay... If you are a fanboy, I don't think I need to sell you on this game. If you are not a fanboy, my advice is you give this one a miss.

Motorstorm (One and Two)
Chaos, Mayhem and Destruction. This game is crazy fun for the first few hours, but the novelty soon wears off.

Resistance
I havent played the second game, which I understand is supposed to be crazy awesome, but I found the first to be rather dull. I seem to be the only one however, so don't take my word on it.

Uncharted
This is a wonderful game. Fine storyline, fun game play, interesting characters and well polished with achievements and rewards. I give this one a thumbs up.

Warhawk
Can be very fun, but can get really boring too after a while. You can expand the lifetime and excitement of this game if you have lots of mates to play with.

Well, those were pretty much the exclusive heavy hitters I've had experience with. Other games (GTA, COD) are multi-platform but go well with the PS3.

I can't say for one that it will put COD to shame, and I'm pretty sure Rustbukkit can because I remember him telling me he had played the beta.

But, from what I have seen ( Gameplay videos, online gameplay videos, etc... )

I can safely say from my opinion that it is better then COD. To put it to shame however, is a bit different since I myself haven't played it.

Yes it is just like any other FPS in terms of, there are no new gameplay mechanics going on, but the graphics + gameplay + realism just make this game one of the most anticipated games for me. I basically bought my PS3 just for LBP and KZ2, LBP didn't disappoint, and I know Killzone 2 won't either.

i've played a bunch of gta4 but don't own it and i'm kind of worried i would get burnt out on it since i dont really care about the story line. and Drake's prob wouldnt be worth buying right?

[Edit]: Ya if the graphics did look great i'm not going to lie. So if they deliver on the realisim they will have won me i'm sure. A level up system / perks like COD would be nice too for that addictive / rewarding factor

lets just say i have some good ideas of games you might not like some but these are ones i love xD

LBP - DEFFINITE MUST- The most random game ever
MotorStorm - I didnt really get time to play it but it was very fun
KZ2 - Watch the LBP adverts you'll see helghast costumes - if LBP covers a costume it must be epic!
MGS4 - ok all you hater out there this game is good , just annoying that its mostly cutscenes but if you string them together you got a good drama movie going there xD
Resistance 1/2 - Ok the Co-op on 2 sucks and isnt the story at all. but on the first one the Co-op is very good all be it that the online sucks on the 1st, on the 2nd online is mayhem so if your a good shooter then its ok but if your one of those noobs, dont expect any help from your team because most the time they'll shoot you to...

more to come soon!

Your right, you didn't bring up the whole "Halo killer" thing and I should have clarified that I was remarking on general comparison's that have been made by the gaming community overall... sorry for not being more clear on that. :S

I found gameplay between the two different in almost every way. Halo was more fantasy based sci-fi, whereas KZ was more realistic and closer to the world we live in and know. Different story lines... again, KZ's seemed much more believable. Halo's controls certainly seemed more fluent in many ways, and were more user-friendly to the average gamer. KZ was missing a jump button (which is now added thanks to the fans over at the Playstation Forums constant request for it), but I found the jumping in Halo over the top and a little ridiculous to tell the truth. Halo's vehicles were awesome and it was great that the players had free reign over them. Killzone's vehicles were slightly more beleivable (as sci-fi vehicles go), but using them was another feature sorely missed in the game. There are certainly some similarities if we generalize, but I still maintain that both games had their own unique feel, as well as good points and bad. Again... just my opinion.

With regards to my comment about the bullet to damage ratio in KZ2, the difference is very noticeable in online play... I just wanted to clarify that. As for story mode... I couldn't say yet. I completely agree with you that a good clean headshot should result in an immediate death. Even when COD4 brought out the sniper patch, it didn't completely fix the problem for us snipers... even with the Barrette .50 cal (which was completely ridiculous if you've ever actually seen what that round does to someone in real life - which I won't go into out of respect for our younger mambers).

I think you will really enjoy the class system in the new game and it's ability to cater to every players desires and playing styles. There are unlock-ables in the game and I'm assuming they will be somewhat similar to the great system developed in COD (no specific details on them just yet), and I think this is a step in the right direction for not only KZ2... but all FPS's. I think it's great that GG have obviously taken a look around at what other developers are doing and mimicing what works and what makes other games so great and used it to their advantage.

As a general not of interest (and I'm normally not one to perpetuate rumors), it looks like the LBP Helghast DLC is going to be released the same day as KZ2... BOOYAH!!

PS... if you do get KZ2, feel free to add me and we'll go online sometime and enjoy the slaughter-fest together.

Peace!

There are mostly 2X throughut the game (as oppsed to 3X or 4X), and there should be one for every level if I'm not mistaken. It seemed that way when I did story mode... but that was a while ago now.

Hope your enjoying the game.

GTA4 isn't much sandbox of a game but definetely freeroaming style. IF you don't have it you should grab it asap.

A good "sandbox" game to consider would be Saint's Row 2.

... god I hate the word "sandbox"...

Well, the game is rated 17+ so I don't see where the problem is. Are you in America? ESRB mature rating = 17 years old or more.

GTA4 doesn't suck. The game has been hyped through the roof and when this happens, vocal gamers on the web are building themselves unrealistic expectations. This leads into people *****ing the game after release.

The only thing I can concede to them is that YES it's true that GTA4 changed. It became more an action game in a freeroaming city than a sandbox but it doesn't mean the game is bad.

Ranger absolutely hit the nail on the head. Even if you didn't enjoy the gameplay in GTA4, only a fool would call it worthless.
The effort the developers put into making the city come alive is astounding and even if you don't like the new way vehicles handle, the euphoria physics engine is a god **** astounding innovation.

Also, The biggest character in GTA4 wasn't Niko Bellic, but undoubtedly the city itself. Taking a stroll down some of the cities alleyways and ghetto's is a rich experience. The architecture is just brilliant.
