| Hey Everyone! It's the news that you have all been waiting for... Our LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta will be beginning next month and we have hand-picked a small number of you brilliantly creative folks to participate! What this means is that we will be contacting our selected community creators over the next couple of weeks via your favourite fansite's Private Message inbox to extend an invitation to the LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta. Please be aware that space for this Private Beta is incredibly limited and only a small number of you will actually receive an invitation, however we thought it would be better than you hear about this Private Beta directly from us than just through the grapevine. So please don't be discouraged if you didn't get chosen this time around... We still have plenty of news to share with everyone between now and release! And we certainly won't forget you all! I'm sure the beta is going to be awesome fun for everyone involved - Steven approached us, and many other fansite staff, some time ago to help select active community members. I have to say, I really don't envy Steven for having to make these kinds of choices - it was sooo soo tough to choose from the awesome community we have here, all the while bearing in mind the huge variety of playstyles that should be represented in the beta to help Sony out in the best possible way. That being said, I'm so stoked to see the people who are going to be playing! It's a shame that everyone couldn't be invited, but I'm sure this is the start of lots of good news and tidbits incoming! | also im curious if the beta will be just for the PS4 LBP3, or for both versions? Those invited will be able to choose which console they will be participating on. | I would love to participate in the LBP3 beta test. I love creating platfomers, musics, circuits and anything. So I can enjoy spending much time for test ! LBP3 must be one of great games. | It's looking like the Beta will be cooler than LBP2's with the community fansite invites and all that. I hope they'll squish the bugs, polish the wood and bowtie it up for final release goodness. I've spent alot of time creating cools levels, the one I'm most proud of is "The Wacky Wreckshop" Go try it one day. Creators are obviously very important, but don't forget the players. Playing the Beta for LBP2 and LBP Vita there was lots of ways to break the levels, escape and glitched jumps that are mostly still around in the games. | Thanks for the heads up Steven *crosses fingers* and for those worrying that only experienced creators will get in here is some food for though. They will be wanting to test how accessible the game is for new players and those less experienced so it would make sense in a testing environment to have a varied pool of candidates. | You can always brag about how active you have been and how much you have helped the community but it doesn't grant you any higher chances of getting an invitation to the beta. I personally got both sad and happy, I know I'm not getting handpicked, but I'm happy for those who deserves it. I am also sad for those who wont get an invitation, even when they deserves it, there will probably be many of those... | Will anything from the beta be carried across to the full game this time around? I know it wasn't possible in the LBP2 beta because of bugs which could have carried over to the full game, and this will probably be a similar case to be honest. I ask because I already know I'm not getting invited, but I'd still like to be able to play whatever gets made. | I... er... Deserve to be picked... Because I have a disadvantage... If LBPCentral worked on Internet Explorer, I'd have been constantly active on the forum over the last three years... And... The... Er... Forum is what motivated me to finish my projects... I'd have finished all my levels... And I'd be well known... And I'd have improved the community... Now I'm three years behind and using Firefox because you discriminated against my browser! It's not a choice... I didn't choose IE, it came pre-installed!... It came pre-installed... *bursts into tears* LBP is my pastime of choice. Building a level is like sculpting or modelling, playing with logic is like playing sudoku, creating music is like... creating music and collecting a costume is like collecting a stamp. And like stamp collectors, I don't plan on dying until I've collected every last piece... Including the bug blaster. Even if I haven't made an impact on this game or this community, this game has made an impact on me. It has inspired in many ways and has allowed me to develop who I am. I may not (I may have?) have been invited to this beta, but you can sure as hell expect me to try again for the next one. And that's from the heart. And congratulations to those who did get in! I will agree with you on the undiscovered creators, Yes there is many of creators who has a brill talent for creating, Which is why some level may got spotlighted but... for that matter I always didn't care about be popular i care about creating new and fantastic creations for the whole community. Whenever i play a Level, I give them a yay and heart them and sometimes i even write a review for them wither they good on the level or they should fix that or even that and also i don't play as much Team Pick levels as much as some people do. | Some things 1. Beta invites are not just being sent to "famous creators", you don't need 10 team picks to get in. Active community people are on the list too. 2. Beta invites are not exclusive to LBPC members and they are not just being sent via LBPC. You don't need to be active here to get one. Any article on a gaming site that reports otherwise is wrong. 3. There is a list and AFAIK that's it for now. Writing poetry or spamming the forums to make yourself look active will probably not help you get an invite this time. 4. Invites will continue to be sent out over the next couple of weeks so don't worry if you haven't heard anything yet. Steven is a very busy guy and he's obviously not going to be sending messages 24/7. The beta won't start until everyone on the list has been invited so you won't miss out by not getting an invite on the first day. 5. Every LBP game has had a prerelease beta and every one has been different. The LBP team have enough experience to know what works and what doesn't, and they believe that this is the best way to start testing LBP3 - and thus the best way to ensure the finished game will be as good as it can be. 6. Picking specific people who are known to be active in various aspects of LBP means that the beta testers will be more likely to find and report bugs than if codes were sent out to a group of random people who signed up. This isn't like Destiny where the beta exists largely for promotional reasons and people are treating it as a demo. This is LBP - the kind of game that could probably set fire to your system if something goes wrong. It needs to be tested. 7. It is always possible that more invites will be sent out at a later stage so don't think it's the end of the world if you miss out this time. November is still a few months away. 8. Even if you don't get in to any beta, the finished game will be released soon enough. The finished, stable, fully functional game that can only exist after some thorough testing. Beta testers will have to cope with a horrible, broken, glitchy, buggy version of the game that will crash every 5 minutes. You're probably better off sticking to LBP2! [insert joke about how buggy LBP2 is] 9. These are all things I've tweeted but I thought it would be better to post here. The numbers are completely unnecessary and I could probably have squashed all of these points together into one definitive statement: 10.
