Must-Have DLCs?

Archive: 17 posts

I have yet to buy any LBP2 DLC (unless those free costume packs count). I plan on buying some soon, but I first want to know what people think are the must-have DLCs.
I'm thinking:
Move Pack (everything in it)
Muppets Pack (Attract-O-Gel)
DC Comics Pack (Hero Cape & air material that I've heard about)
Some sticker pack (because i cant create stickers (YET))

Anything you guys think should be added/removed? Thanks!

Toy Story (don't know if it's still available or not)

It's not unfortunately.

Anyway, assuming you have the lbp1 level kits then I say move, cross-controller, muppets and DC

It depends on what you do on lbp. If your an avid costume creator/collector, I recommend the Modnation Racers costume as well as those with iconic characters (Garfield, Sonic, Toy Story if they became available)

I don't have a move or vita so I don't have those respective packs.
DC comics pack is very useful for creation.
Sonic Pack contains a good range of stickers.
LBP1 Level kits are also very useful (PotC/Monster kit/MGS)

I can't really advise any others above the rest since I've bought pretty much every pack released before 2014. The unlicensed ones are always great value for money (athletics pack contains 9 costumes I think) whilst licensed DLCs are great for the third party characters. I'd recommend Toy Story, Incredible packs but they're no longer available. I tend to buy the most common DLCs used in community costumes so I can use them. Anything with uniquely-shaped costume pieces can be useful and have a lot of potential.

For costumes, i liked the stickers in the ModNation Racers Tag costume a lot. I don't have a lot of costumes so i can't recommend any others, but it's a good costume with some good stickers though.

Also i'd really recommend the Metal Gear Solid kit, if only because of the paintinator and it contains some cool materials and awesome sound effects. Move Pack is probably super awesome too, i don't have it though. I have the DC kit on Vita and it's a must get, a ton of materials and decorations and a few cheesy but quite good music tracks. And ofcourse, two new abilities for your sackboy! Not sure about the Muppets Pack though, i mean, it's good and i have it but it's mostly just something you'd get for the Attract-O-Gel. Besides that, it's not entirely special and mostly contains a lot of Muppets-themed stuff that i wouldn't know a use for besides Muppet things. I kinda think that the Attract-O-Gel is a little buggy at times, getting off can be hard and things like that. It's not bad though.

Move pack is the most essential. I didn't really find muppets very useful Myself... but I really hate attract o gel. To me it's a really weak mechanic.

Anywho my list:
move pack
Dc kit
Cross controller

After that it's pretty up in the air.

In defence of the Muppet pack: it has some good character/custome options, and you can do some neat tricks with the attraction tweaker. Plus you'd get to 100% your trophies, if that's something you care about. I'd get that before the ModNation (or any other costume/sticker) pack.2014-07-21 09:51:00

I've never really bothered with the DLC, other than the Muppets pack. And the only reason I bought that was because of the attracto tweaker, which was essential for my last level2014-07-21 11:04:00

I have -
Move pack
Cross-Controller pack
POTC Pack
Monster Kit
History Kit
Incredibles Pack
Muppets Pack
MGS Pack

They're all pretty good, and I hear good things about the DC kit. I have most costume packs, and can tell you now, the kits are much better, but that is personal preference, maybe its because I spend more time building than I do designing my sack.

Costume DLC is only useful if you create a lot of characters for your levels. I personally don't care much what my persona sackperson looks like, But I personally spend ages on making my sackdoll character designs for my levels. And with that said... I have no small list of costumes to say as advice since that purely depends on the type of characters each person wants to make.

However if you don't make many levels with sack characters... Then the most big DLC you'll get bang for yo buck is...

Any and all of the big-level kits and mini-level kits. But this depends on how much level detail matters to you. If fancy detail in your level is not important then any of the levels that add new gameplay and logic such as the DC-Kit and Move-Pack will give the best content for you.

PS: I'm pretty sure you don't need the LBP1 Pirate or Metal gear pack for their power-ups if you are playing LBP2 as water and the paint-gun come installed on LBP2 for free last I remembered. *mew

For me the only reason to get the costume packs is for male hairstyles. There are barely any without DLC. The extra costumes are a bonus that I sometimes might use.2014-07-22 10:02:00

And lots of materials and decorations that you can tweak the colour of, like with sticker panels.2014-07-22 19:08:00

Lets start with costume packs, You should have
-Heavy Rain Pack for the costumes that look like normal clothes and some decent male hairstyles and Jayden's Shades and Glove are awesome!
-Sack in Black the glasses and suit are good you could use Borris' stuff for, some, things.
-Sackboy Chilled Friday Nights or whatever it's called some nice male hair and normal clothes!

Now the Level Packs

-Pirates of the Caribbean gives some nice materials and stickers
-MGS gives you paintinator, some awesome materials and stickers and the awesome,Gurlovich ( or whatever it's called) Solider costume is great for bank robberies along with Jayden's Shades
- DC gives you some nice Sci Fi materials Wall jumping, hero cape and Cyborg and Cheetah costumes, ( Captain Freeze or whatever he's called on Vita)
- Muppets only, for the Felt material and attract o gel stickers are rubbish ( just muppet faces) Rowlf costume is only useful for they eyes to me.
-Last but not least Monster Kit and History kits have great stickers and decorations and some decent materials.

That's all, if you want buy some,Tron stuff like the Clu costume if that's still there.

You thought I forgot the Cross Controller? NOO if deserves to have its own category as it has awesome materials and some great costumes!
