****NEW YORK CITY**** (Pictures Included) I DO F4F!
Archive: 13 posts
Try out my newest level: New York City. You'll see The Empire State Building, Time Square, The Statue of Liberty, and Central Park. It's alot easier than my previous ones because it's mostly just for looks. Just search for my user name "ApellesJr" and try out all my levels. Thanks. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/ApellesJr/LBP/APhoto.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/ApellesJr/LBP/APhoto_1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/ApellesJr/LBP/APhoto_2.jpg | 2009-02-19 14:20:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
Um.... this doesn't sound like it's going to stay on the MM servers too long... I would imagine modoraters would lock this level due to adult content? | 2009-02-19 14:25:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
isn't prostitution a common job??? i would like to ask the entire MM crew if there is anybody who didn't went to this kind of sexual services... LOL ... i bet that there's at least one... | 2009-02-19 14:29:00 Author: misterwonderloo Posts: 164 |
Nah. I mean it's not provocative really...It's implied but there's nothing that you would understand unless you were an adult. That's not the premise of the level though. The point is to walk/ride through New York City. | 2009-02-20 17:40:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |

Ok (sorry for triple posting) I edited all the inappropriate things out of this level (even though it takes alot away from the humor) So please go try it out. | 2009-03-16 03:18:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
Played it last night. I enjoyed it. I really like your text treatments of the sightseeing stops and the lighting/color you use in these areas are just beautiful. The guy at the start of the level, while I know he's supposed to be funny - just weirds me out. I get what you're going for (I think) but He really didn't add too much to the experience for me - although the comment about how messed up people could be was funny. If you're looking for an adult to enjoy the level you could leave that in, if you're looking for a more broad fan base - I'd loose him. I liked the Empire state building elevator ride a lot. Kind of dark in there but I did notice the other building shape cutout in the front. That was a nice touch. The Statue of Liberty is well built and the color is right on. Although with that much effort in building the statue I was a little disappointed that the torch was just a candle. Could you put a torch together with just the flame from the candle visible? I think it would add a little extra spark to have her be all custom done. Just my opinion. Over all a fun level to play - if a bit unusual at some points. I gave it 3 hearts for now with a promise to play it again if you decide to adjust it. It really is a good level as is though. | 2009-03-16 23:59:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Thanks for the suggestions! I really wrestled with the creepy man, mostly because my roommates liked him so much... I thought about making the candle into a more believable torch too...I may do it eventually, I just don't have any motivation to work on my first 3 levels any more. They aren't very good in my opinion, and I'm too excited about my upcoming projects haha. Thanks for playing through though! I've already played all your levels, but I'll write some reviews soon. Thanks Morgana! | 2009-03-17 06:51:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
No rush. I know the feeling about early level burnout. I probably won't modify my 1st three either.... although the space station one has potential... I just didn't know what I was doing then. It was sort of my "break through level." | 2009-03-17 07:18:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Yeah, I kind of made the mistake publishing levels while I was still learning the very basic aspects. Even now, alot of the more advanced concepts are just over my head, (or at least, I don't have time to even try) I think from now on I'm going to stick to what I do best: Platforming. I spent so much time on trying to make my latest level aesthetically beautiful, and the result is pathetic compared to a lot of the levels in the community, (yours put mine to shame Morgana) I'm good at character design, and coming up with creative ideas for platforming elements. (When team create comes out, I'd love to help out anyone who'd like my help in those areas) | 2009-03-17 07:27:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
Thanks for the compliment - yea when team design is available I'd appreciate some help coming up with creative platforming. Mine tends to be sort of predictable. | 2009-03-17 07:33:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

It was sort of my "break through level." Yes, that "break through level" is how I'd describe my current project. That really sums it up. I think it takes a while, but then suddenly everything makes sense (except wobble bolts! ). | 2009-03-17 09:00:00 Author: dkjestrup Posts: 672 |
Wobble bolts? haha, what's hard about wobble bolts? | 2009-03-18 00:29:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
